KNIPEX 87 01 125 SBA Cobra Pliers

These are great for small projects and easy to keep in the pocket.

You can’t beat the 125mm (5”) Knipex Cobra pliers. I EDC these at work all week in my pocket. I started out with the 150mm (6”) Knipex Cobras and within a Month of EDC those I bout the 125mm (5”) Knipex Cobras. The only reason I bought the 150mm and not the 125mm is because I thought they was going to be too small but boy I was wrong. The alignment of the jaws are perfect. The quality is unmatched. There’s no sharpness on any of the corners. They are do not have a ton of head thickness and the machining accuracy is spot on.

I purchased these to carry on my because I continually need tools on my person due to life and my work. I didn't want anything too bulky, and the Knipex XS just seemed too small, and impractical in my eyes, so I bought the next size up! These have not disappointed! They are more handy than you realize, their grip is great, holding onto anything I have needed. They have taken a fair beating and have held up amazingly well! The only "negative" observation I have is they have some oxidation, and got it within the first week, but its a tool I carry on my person every single day, so its not a true "negative," just kind of a heads-up. I love them, and highly recommend them to anyone who is on the verge of purchasing! Also, I added a little, rectangular magnet in between it openings in the handle to prevent it from clanging while in my pocket. Just a personal preference, but thats the silver rectangle in the pictures.

I've carried a Leatherman for years. They're great. There are so many tools in one convenient package. However, none of the tools really stand out. In recent months I've built an EDC tool kit beginning with a small nylon camera case that slides on your belt. I carry a knife, a Klein 4 in one electronics screwdriver, a vintage American made 4 inch adjustable wrench and now the Knipex Cobra 5 inch pliers. Of all the tools in my kit I use the knife the most and then the Knipex pliers. They are so well made they do the work of pliers twice their size. They are so much more robust than the old Craftsman ignition pliers I previously used. These things are incredible. There is no play between the two sides. The grips are very comfortable and fit well in my large hands. These are not toys and do not feel as such. If you're on the fence please do yourself a favor and pay the little bit extra and get these. You will not regret the purchase.

As a mechanic for over 20 years, I can honestly say these pliers are amazing. I've owned Snap-on, Mac, Matco, Cornwell and these are better then any of the pliers they sell. I have a small set of cobras I use for my edc pouch and the larger set for my toolbox. I always grab these and they get the job done. Never had a tool break but I've heard good things about Knipex return policy.

These are excellent, can easily take the place of a pipe wrench and vice grips for most jobs. Safety feature where the handles cant come together and crush your fingers. Don't need to squeeze the handles once the jaws bite, they lock on like a pipe wrench. Worth every penny.
