Great OBD Reader (that Works with Various Apps!)
This OBD reader works great. You just have to plug it in, connect to it using your phone (via WiFi) and then find and download an app you like. (I initially thought that you could only use the app they mention in the instructions, but you DO NOT. (In my case, the little pamphlet recommended an app called "FasLink X" which was terrible). I recommend using the "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" app instead, which is free on the app store). You'll easily get your money's worth here just from clearing recurring codes (... yes Subaru, I know you think the gas cap is still loose. Thanks for the fifteenth (mistaken) reminder this week... .) No real complaints for the price! I would (and have) bought this product more than once (lost the first one lol). Highly recommend!

Works AND Saves Money
I ordered this scan tool and it worked perfectly as advertised! The check engine light ("CEL") turned on while driving my 2009 Honda Fit Sport in heavy traffic (of course). I then called the dealer and they quoted me $159 for diagnosing--that is, just plugging in a scanner and reading the code, which can be done in less than 2 minutes. Talk about highway robbery. Of course I wasn't going to drop the better part of $200 just like that. Enter the Foseal Scan Tool. It is AMAZING! Seriously. Money-saver? Yes, sir. Easy to use? You got it. End all, be all? For the most part. Once you have on hand your code (or codes if you have such luck--mine was P0843), search online for what it represents/means or call an auto parts store (think big-box stores like AutoZone). Let me repeat, you can CALL...even if you live in the middle of nowhere, search the web for an auto parts store and tell them you have a code you'd like more information on. They may even have the parts that you can purchase to fix the problem. Once you obtain the parts, you can do it yourself or call a mechanic. I ended up paying $120 in parts (without the Foseal) and $0 in labor. My brother and I replaced the parts...and voilà, I got my car back for less than what I would have paid the dealer JUST to find out what was wrong with it. Maybe needless to say, but I'll say it anyway: I LOVE THIS THING!

still can't give 5 stars but, it is better than I first posted
it's ok but you have to buy a different upgrade for each vehicle you use it on. I have 3 vehicles so that's 30 dollars to check them all. I had trouble getting even the free version to download on my phone and then I had more problems getting the upgrade . Once I got the free app it connected up nicely but you need to switch back and forth from internet wifi to the obd wifi ( on my Tab 3 ) Overall my experience was very frustrating. I liked the look of the dashboard and the info it gave was accurate. I will be returning this and pay a few dollars more for one I can use on all my vehicles. UDATE 7/16/17 After further testing and playing around with this I found that I can use it on all my vehicles. The extra charge apps are for vehicle specific codes and it tells you what the fault is you just have to google the specific fix, I have used it on a GMC truck and a Ford E450 class C motor home.. I still have some issues with the wifi. disconnecting after 5 or ten minutes and having to reconnect. I will be going on a long trip next month and want to use it to track mileage , temp etc. I will update again after the trip I give the company 5 stars for customer service and reaching out to me to try and rectify my issues. They contacted me twice to offer a refund for the app that didn't download. overall 3.5 stars UDATE 8/31/17 I have been using it on a trip from Alaska to the east coast. I covered over 5000 miles nd the unit has performed very well depending on what set of dash boards I use I can track gall per hr miles per gallon cost and many other variables. It even saved me from a ticket in a speed trap ( my speedometer was off by 5 mph). It has been very accurate and except for a couple times having trouble staying connected overall it performed as expected. The only thing I don't like is that it is wifi rather than blue tooth, not the vendors problem but when I go for a new one I will go for blue tooth. Still 5 stars for company service but I have to take a star off for the sometimes sporadic wifi connection. I would recommend this vendor and will not hesitate to purchase from them in the future.

Great tool for the price!
This little, inexpensive device, when paired with a good app, will give you possibly more information than what you want to know about your vehicle. I mainly bought it because my Check Engine light came on and didn't want to take it to someone that would charge me lots of money just to tell me something that probably the Auto Zone guy would. Also I bought this version because it is one of the few I found that would work with an iOS device. I have not found an OBD II scan tool that is bluetooth and will work with iOS. I hate that I will not have internet while I'm connected to this device's WiFi since it obviously doesn't have connection to the internet. But I will not degrade the actual device just because of this since it does not affect the overall performance/information that it provides to the consumer. I bought the DashCommand app from the Apple Store for $9.99 (at the time of this review) since I own multiple iOS devices. This app works really good and in my opinion is worth the $10. It's very simple to setup with the OBD II scan tool and also connects almost all the time on the first try. It provided me with the codes read from the ECM through the OBD II scanner and now I will be doing some car work this weekend to see if it fixes the issue and clears the Check Engine light.

SELLER DOES NOT ENFORCE THEIR OWN QUALITY GUARANTEE -- BIG SCAM!
Let me start by saying that I do my research before purchasing any product on Amazon. I read others' reviews before making a purchasing decision which is why I purchased this particular scanner. It worked as advertised when I first got it, but here I am 7 months later and the scanner no longer communicates to any device. The scanner, when plugged in, used to show up on my phone under available WiFi access points and I left the scanner plugged into my car. Now, the scanner doesn't show up under my WiFi at all. I tried all logical troubleshooting methods: ensuring it was plugged in all the way, unplug/plug it back in (while car was running and when I shut it off/restart it), tried connecting to the unit with a different smartphone, etc. Nothing worked. I used my phone to take a picture of the scanner while it was plugged in because there are 5 dots that light up on the unit and I wanted to see what the unit was showing. It had 1 out of 5 dots lit up in red. I can only assume this meant the unit was not functioning properly. I bought the unit on 11/26/16. First off, I visited the manufacturer's website to see if I could download a manual to verify the light was indeed displaying a communication error, but of course, they had NO DOCUMENTATION WHATSOEVER nor any support links. I contacted Amazon to see what my options were and they recommended I work with the manufacturer to resolve the issue, which I was. The manufacturer's website under 'Contact Us' provides no customer service phone number, only a generic support email with a promise to respond within 24 hours. I emailed the manufacturer, explaining in detail my situation along with all troubleshooting methods I followed and let them know I just purchased it 6.5 months ago and did not expect the item to fail so soon. They responded to the email the next day stating (in broken English): "Dear Customer, We are Foseal Store from Amazon. Thanks for purchasing our product and sorry for the problem caused to you. About the questions you mentioned in your email. As far as I'm concernd, Since you have been buying it for a long time, there may be some normal wear and tear on our products. To give back to our old customers, you can buy the same product at half price. Any other question, please contact us, we will response you within 24 hours Have a good day to you! Foseal store" I reviewed the manufacturer's website and under its section titled 'RETURN' it clearly states in its first line: " For all products purchased on the site, Foseal's customers enjoy a 24-month-long product quality guarantee, under all circumstances.. (This 24-month-long product quality guarantee is only for all the orders since September 1, 2015.)" I would first like to point out, any products listed on their site are not actually sold through the site, the site links products directly through Amazon for purchase. My scanner was clearly purchased after September 1, 2015 (well within their guidelines) and the quality of the product is faulty within 6.5 months time. I would call that a quality issue which should fall on the manufacturer to remedy. According to the manufacturer's website's documentation, the product should still be covered under a quality guarantee for another 17 months! Why exactly should I be expected to shell out more money (even at HALF the price) to purchase another?!? This is UNACCEPTABLE business practice. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. Just a bad vibe all around.

Great price and it has been useful
Great price and it has been useful, but you get what you pay for. It connects with my iPhone just fine and works for awhile, but it frequently disconnects and the only way to reconnect is to unplug it and start over. So, it's good for reading trouble codes, and resetting them and you can use it to see how the engine is performing in real time... for a short while. The idea of driving down the road and having a complete set of engine gauges on my phone is just not practical and I could not get it to work this way. Fortunately, that's not why I bought it. BTW, it's not the distance from the dongle to the phone, or interference as it would drop and disconnect with the phone right next to it and the phone always showed full bar wireless strength. If you just want to check and reset trouble codes, this is a good inexpensive way to do that. If you want this to have a cheap full set of gauges on your dash, forget it. Get real gauges.

WORKS GREAT!!! DISPLAYS and CLEARS TROUBLE CODES / CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, WIFI CONNECTS QUICKLY, STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
This scan tool is AWESOME especially for the price. Everything worked flawlessly - downloaded the free app "OBDCarDoctor" for my iOS device, plugged it in to my vehicle's OBDII port, connected to the scanner's wifi (worked perfect the first time), launched the app and hit connect. I had a full scan in seconds. I was quickly able to view the trouble codes and clear them from my car's ECU. I was very impressed. The free iOS app did not appear to have a code "look up" feature to see exactly what the code meant for your specific vehicle but again, it was FREE. I would totally recommend this product. Don't let the small price fool you as it is a very capable, full featured tool. LIKES: - Product recommends a free app "OBDCarDoctor" that worked great. There are many other free and paid apps you can use with this tool depending on your needs. - quickly pull vehicle data, trouble codes, etc - clear trouble codes and check engine light from the app!!! - This tool broadcasts its own wifi network that you connect to for readings. It showed up immediately and connection was a snap. - Very compact and unobtrusive form factor. DISLIKES: - None. Great product.

Everyone should have one of these for peace of mind/ monitoring
Originally looking for a fault code scanner. But had a secondary reason for buying. i thought my thermostat was letting the coolant get too hot. I used my tablet, as well as my phone to monitor the temps and I was wrong, they're perfect. but it means I can ignore the gauge which we all know has built in 'slack' to keep people from freaking out. The sensor provides accurate temps. I verified this with an IR/Laser thermo. Pros: Reads all sensors I need Allows you to reset fault codes (although you could just remove the battery cable too) Connects to phone/tablet allowing you to view real time temps, and it provides fast enough poling to be useful. Addicting using this thing. Cons: Wish it was Bluetooth instead of WiFi. Torque Pro (by far the best app) has a bug where i get a popup constantly telling me it can't connect to my bluetooth. Even though i've changed the OBD Adapter settings to use Wifi so it shouldn't even be looking for BT connectiviy Honestly i could go on, but the reality is the negatives all fall on the Torque Pro app, not the adapter. I'd go nuts without this now after using it. EDIT: Going to leave my rating at 5, but you should know something. 1. This saved me big time. I had been worrying that my cooling system was running hot. I starting using this with Torque pro ($5) and i got so attached i used it every time i drove. I was at a light, and I noticed my temps went from the typical 204 to 212 and starting rising. it's a long light, but when I got to 122 I ran the red to get off the road. less than 1/4 mile from home I got there. had the car towed to find the radiator fan had failed. had I not been running this I would not have known that early and could easily have overheated. 2. There is one caveat to this. if I'm using my cell phone, i connect using WiFi. when i do that my phone thinks I have internet so all internet traffic routes to wifi and fails. No maps, no email etc. I can't just shut off wifi data because I use it all the time. had I started now, I'd buy a Bluetooth version
