Omnigrid Ruler, 2-1/2 x 8-Inch, Clear

My old fabric marking ruler was flimsy and the top layer of plastic was peeling off (unfortunately, that is what had the numbers printed on it...) so I ordered this as a replacement. It is miles above my old one in terms of quality -- much thicker/sturdier/more rigid, and doesn't appear that it would ever have the peeling problem. This is a great size. I have a pattern I am making from which I needed to cut something 18 inches long, and since this is 24 inches long, I can do that easily. I am mostly using black fabric for that project, and you can put this over black fabric and see the lines. But you can *also* put it over light colored fabric and see the lines, since the grid is in two colors. I don't mind that the colors are black and yellow; both are easy enough for me to see (and I don't have great vision). I am a little afraid of rotary cutters so I mostly use this for drawing lines with (washable) fabric marking pencils. But it is rigid enough and thick enough that it should be just fine with a rotary cutter running along next to it. I am of a low enough experience level that I am sticking with squares and rectangles for now, and this is more than sufficient for those purposes. This does not have a non-slip surface (and no rubber feet) so you will have to put some pressure on it while cutting or marking. But it did not slide for me. (It helps to have a stable, flat work surface. Use the dining room table instead of a TV tray, for example.) Anyway, this is miles above what I had before and it is easy to use, so I am happy.

One of my most used quilting, sewing and smocking rulers. It is compact and portable with accurate markings. I use it a lot to quick check measurements. It is also useful to put at a 90 degree angle to a long quilting ruler and slide up and down to quick check spacing from edge of fabric. Easy to read. Great price for a durable measuring tool.

Love this ruler, easy to use and very beneficial in cutting 10” blocks in half or creating 2 1/2” strips. A good size, not unwieldy. Misplaced/lost my original and could not replace it fast enough!

I really like the accuracy of the lines. I really like the width. It allows me to use a full-size suction cup handle. The printing is very accurate. I put medical plastic tape like they put on IV lines on the back of it, which is still clear, but it helps the ruler not wiggle around all over the place on me. It’s very sturdy. The color is bright yellow. Makes cutting easy. Very versatile. Overall, the price was better than the one that was a half inch narrower And I like it so much better!

This is a great ruler to do potato chip blocks, I’m sure you will not be disappointed

Perfect ruler for to use with rotary cutter.

This is an excellent product! It's easy to use, works for both right and left hand users, is accurate... my only problem with it, and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is that it was suppose to come with little clear plastic "feet" that prevent it from sliding, and they weren't in the package. And yes, it does slip around on the fabric, so you have to try to lean into it to try to prevent movement when running a circular cutting blade along it. I had some leaf-it finger dots laying around (used on your index finger to make sorting through papers easier) and layered them onto each other to create a non-slip button then stuck it onto the ruler. It does work, just not as well as I'm sure the ones made for the ruler work. As for accuracy, I love the way this is marked, with the dual colors it can be used on any color of fabric, light or dark, and still be seen easily. And it's a nice thickness, which makes it perfect for rotary cutters. A good quality grid style ruler, and I really like using. I'm happy with my purchase!

I use this to make my lines on my embroidery. I love that it’s small and has every single line and cross line, plus the measurements I need to make my embroidery stitches exactly as I want them!
