Permasteel 80 Quart Portable Rolling Patio Party Cooler in Antique Black

I'm giving this product 5 stars because it looks fantastic."The good" - The unit looks just like the picture (fyi- except mine came with matching black handles vs the chrome ones shown on pic) This cooler replaces another I bought several years ago at Target. We entertain a lot and have large living room with maple cabinetry. My old cooler look like many of the others you see and never quite fit with the furniture and decor (maybe better for outside). The Permasteel cooler, however, has the look of wood cabinetry and fits in perfectly with our home."The no-so bad" - Like everything I've ordered "fulfilled by Amazon" the cooler arrived quickly (3 days). However, it was missing one of the handles. I called Amazon and they offered whatever I wanted, return/refund, a partial refund or to ship me another one. Since I already assembled the one I was shipped (and loved it) I chose the latter. The replacement cooler came the next day! I took the handle out of the new one, taped up the box, and UPS came later that day and picked up to return to Amazon. Amazon paid to ship the replacement and paid to pick up the replacement, UPS printed the label. I didn't have to do anything, except go through the slight hassle of it all. All-in-all I thought Amazon handled the problem perfectly for me - and I’d give them 5 stars just for customer services. S*** happens."The bad" - just like the other reviewer - I noticed the drain plug problem, the hole wasn't quite drilled right. And the plug and washers didn't seem to seal right. (FYI-- on my original cooler I bought from Target - I had the same problem - could be inherent with these types of coolers). So, I just did the same thing- went to the hardware store, bought two big rubber washers and one steel washer ($3 bucks). Clean up the whole just like the other reviewer, slid the extra washers on, tightened it all up and BAM! Perfect seal no leaks possible.In the end, I feel there was really no "ugly". Because the cooler looks so darn good - the minor extra efforts were worth it.

I'm totally happy with the cooler. My husband had some difficulty assembling it and I cannot articulate which parts were the culprits. I know there were some bent metal pieces that he bent back but the pieces used to connect the casters were the major issue. He had to engineer something to get the caster properly assembled. If I had been putting this thing together on my own there would be been lots of cursing and a hissy fit and I don't think I'd have ever figured out a solution. Now, after all that, I am very happy with the cooler. It has a large capacity and it pretty easy to drain.

I have only had this set up for three days it was a gift from my son. I already love it. All the parts were there and it went together quickly (ok, my son put it together very quickly). The big test we filled it up on the hottest day of the year so far,108 we put in our drinks and filled it up with ice about 10 am 12 hours later still ice no water. The next day ice starts to melt, high of 103. Today, I was going to empty it yesterday but I didn't, still a very deep layer of ice. It looks great, works great, and he didn't have any problems with assembly. The bottle cap catcher is supposed to hang loose on the screws so you can take it off and empty it.

Purchased this cooler to go out on the pool deck. We live in FL so summers are scorching hot but this does a great job keeping our beverages nice and cold!

If you are thinking of ordering this item, DON'T DO IT! When I started to put it together, I noticed a big dent on the bottom in the back of the cooler. I was willing to ignore that. When it came time to add the bottom shelf to the legs, only one hole lined up! Three out of four holes do not line up and it's completely useless. I read some bad reviews on this item and thought they can't all be made like crap so I took my chances. I am so regretting it now. Now I don't have a cooler that I needed for this coming weekend. AND now I have to go thru the inconvenience of taking apart the portion we assembled before realizing it was completely defective and try to get it back in the box for a return?? Damaged AND defective. I can't even believe the manufacturer has the nerve to send out their products this way. Do yourself a favor and look for another cooler.

So right now during this heatwave on the East Coast I’ve had ice in it for two days now And at 115 degrees outside it keeps my beer cold... highly recommend! But.. better get a cover because I left it out in the rain and it rusted a bit.. my fault. It does get super hot because I got the black one.

I like everything in this item. Definitely recommended.

I really think the cooler itself is quite nice, but it had a lot of paint "knicks" when it was delivered. I planned to just repaint those areas so that rust would not set in, but it rained before I had the chance. I then had to remove the rust and paint over several areas on the handles to keep them from rusting again. Also, the screws for the bottle cap catcher would only screw in a little so the metal catcher "wobbled" back and forth when the wind blew. I had to add some stick-on felt pads to the back to stop the rattling and still allow the metal catcher to be removed for emptying. It's kind of a shame to get a product that looks so nice but requires so many "fixes" before it becomes the product that was advertised. Good product.....but not so good product!
