Remote Control Switch, DC 12V/24V/48V/72V/ 40A relay Remote Switch for Anti-Theft Alarms, Security Systems Roller Lind Door,Gate Barriers etc (black)

Used this to to give an override to outdoor lights which run on a timer, as the cleaners complained about having to approach the building in the dark. Thought I might have to mount the unit outdoors in a waterproof box, but found it worked ok indoors and could still be operated from the carpark. Ideally wanted a unit that would switch itself off after 10 minutes, else if the cleaners did not press the off button, lights would be on 24/7, but could not find anything suitable, so added a seperate delay module. The unit has three modes (not detailed on the instructions with this unit, but found online for similar units. It will either be press on, press off, or only stay on whilst button is pressed, or stay on for 5 seconds when button is pressed. One can also add additional RF fobs to the unit. The fobs that come with the unit cannot be purchased separately, so I bought a selection from ebay. The really cheap ones have very poor range, but found a few that gave good range. There are things to be aware of, you are monkeying around with live electricity, which will kill you. Do not buy this unit unless you are competent working with electricity. The plastic cover over the mains terminals is very flimsy and certainly would not pass any UK safety standards. Therefore the unit must be mounted to ensure inadvertent contact which could damage the cover or allow contact. I chose to mount the unit in a large plastic enclosure (look at Toolstation) A small hole was drilled in the top to allow the antenna to protrude (Do not unwind the antenna) and then cable glands for the in/out cables. I have since found this unit at half the amazon price on other listing sites.

Fitted to an external garage light. It's not weather proof and needs to be inside. I would also advise fitting it safely away where no one can touch it only because the cover for the connections is a little flimsy. I can now turn it on from the kitchen to light up the approach to the garage. Works first time, every time. Simple to wire up if u have basic skills. It would take an electrician 5 mins to fit. Great bit of kit

Works well for me,- A new install so can not comment on durability but easy install,,,,,, good range on transmitter and looks to be good quality. My only hesitation would be that the remotes seem open and not a rolling code so you could not for instance install two remote switches on two different lights and switch them independently as an individual remote would switch both receivers at the same time.

Bought 7th Nov, died 12th Dec. I only used it to switch a signal current (0.2A) so not like I fried it. Avoid. Not reliable at all.

Good value for money, Bought for in-law's mobility scooter (24v), as he's had a stroke, so we go out with him & it's in case he panics & fails to let go of the throttle. Once decision was made of which scooter wires to use, had it up & running in 30 minutes. I've only switched the live (no wire on the "negative out" side) & it works fine. The remotes are neat, simple & appear to be of reasonable quality. Taken over first few trial runs, even outside, in clear line of sight, we are not getting anywhere near the range quoted for the remote, but it is enough for us.

This is a great product. I wanted to be able to switch on a pair of wall mounted lights along my drive by remote control from the car, so as to be able to power them only when needed when arriving home rather than leave them on all evening. The distance from the house that the remote operates from is great considering the metallic surroundings of the car. We keep the second remote control in the house so when out walking it can be taken and used on return. Only downside is that as mains voltages are involved it does need to be mounted in a plastic box, as the terminals cover would not safely protect any one from touching a live wire.

Works really well and was simple to install. Very straightforward to install, good connection terminals, mounting lugs a little flimsy but overall its seems well built. Great value easy way to automate some outside lighting. I would happily buy again.

Cracking bit of kit for the money. I use it, from my house, to trigger mains-powered security devices in my workshop. Workshop is approx. 30 yards from my house and the trigger signal has to get through four, two foot thick, stone walls to do its job. It works a treat, zero faff and zero fails. Nice one!
