It measures! Nice etched in numbers/lines
Great ruler. The numbers and lines are etched in so even if paint peels one day all the info is still there. I believe this is the standard and anything less than this is faulty junk.

Well made and easy to read
I was looking for a bump board like this one. After I found it I read the reviews and saw that some people had a hard time reading it. Also in the description it shows it measures in 1/2" increments. I ctcd the seller and it measures in 1/4" increments like I needed. I ordered it and when it arrived it was just what I wanted. NO problem reading the increments in the sun as I have it mounted on my deck and it is nice quality aluminum. I would recommend it to al l fisherman..LW

Engraving of measurement markings are poor quality
The measurement marks are of poor quality (see pictures attached to review). It looks like the engraving tool dragged across the surface where it shouldn't have. The ruler still works of course, but I am dissatisfied with the quality of the engraving. On a positive note I disagree with the reviews that state that the scale is off by 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch. To test the measurement markings for accuracy you have to measure from where the fish's mouth would contact the 90 degree bend, which is NOT right at the bend point, but instead is slightly above the bend point by about an inch. If you measure from there, you will find the measurement markings are accurate. If you measure from right at the bend point the markings appear to be not accurate, but the fish's mouth won't contact the 90 degree bend right at the bend point.
