YouTube Channels for Dummies 1st Edition

I was just beginning to establish my own YouTube channel - so I had many questions. This book will answer many, and take you step-by-step. Worth your time !

Excellent explanations on how to go about setting up a YouTube Channel. And as clients of mine (and myself) ask how we might use YouTube to place videos, this book offers some clarity around the distinction between being a YouTube creator and a YouTube advertiser. I can more clearly state that my clients should be focusing on advertising and seeking out 'channels' that their target viewers may be watching instead of spending too much time placing videos (although there is a place for that - building authority, giving viewers a reason to stay in touch and subscribe and so on. As a video production professional more than a marketing manager, it is already helping me to understand some better ways to explain to my traditional TV clients how we might migrate to online - and YouTube specifically - in a way that is successful.

I liked how it went into detail in every subject to start YouTube. The only thing is that there wasnt much info on planning your videos. Which is why i got it in the first place. But other information was good.

This book enabled me to get my YouTube channel up and running in short order. It was an excellent starting point to an initially intimidating endeavor. It's nicely organized and very easy to read. I was able to just read the parts of the book for the information I needed to get going. It helps guide the user through the issues such as copyrights and monetization. It also provides good information on how to expand your audience.

This is a much better version book of "YouTube for Dummies" it was penned by different Author's and I chose to purchase a used paperback because of an experience I had with a different seller. Book was in great condition and the information was still up to date and very much usable at this date and time. Very helpful. I'm satisfied.

(Writing this review is based on my 12 year old's feedback) He is trying to get through this but claims it is starting off pretty slow and it not peeking his interest. He has already skipped ahead several chapters to try to get useful info on the topic. Most of thes books (I thought) build on the info as you start, but this one seems (to him) to be spotty. He is an avid reader that reads on a 12 grade level, so it isn't that he cannot understand.

I spent my career producing documentaries, commercials, and PSAs. I still shoot wildlife, scenics, and instructional videos. Looking for an efficient way to distribute them, a friend suggested I obtain a YouTube channel. Although familiar with YouTube, I was completely ignorant about the process of developing a channel. This book makes the process simple. Also includes suggestions about how to produce effective videos--eliminating what I describe as "Magic Wand Films". That is, waving the camera around hoping to shotgun to include everything in the scene but doing nothing more than giving viewers vertigo.

This is a fantastic book on an important subject. I did not know anything about YouTube and YouTube channels before I read this; after a few hours I was ready to use YouTube for real. Good conversational tone and loved the humor and color used by the author. Anyone interested in YouTube should buy this book.
