I used four of the 100 lb struts for the roof on my generator shed. I wanted the roof to lift open on its own but still be easy enough to close and latch down securely. I originally bought just one 100 lb set, but that wasn’t quite strong enough, so I ended up adding a second set. With all four installed, the lift strength is perfect for what I needed. The struts operate smoothly and give the roof a solid, controlled motion. Overall, they worked exactly the way I hoped and made the setup feel much more refined

We decided to put them to work on a gun cabinet — and they delivered. Installation was straightforward and easy, even for a DIY setup. They feel durable and well-made, not flimsy at all. The opening is smooth with a full range, and the closing? Controlled and quiet. Actually… not just quiet. Practically silent. Come to think of it, I don’t hear them at all — which is kind of the whole point, and they absolutely nailed it. We’re always on the hunt for budget-friendly options that don’t feel cheap, and this was definitely a win-win. Solid performance, smooth function, and no slamming doors. Exactly what we needed.

It took a while, but finally got one of these struts to work for my home-made utility box with a heavy lid. I bought a set of 45lb rated struts for my 47lb lid. After mounting them on both sides of the box, I realized that EACH strut is rated at 45lb, not combined. Did not see that in the description or instructions. I probably should have bought a set of 25lb struts (=50lbs of force). For my application, one will do the job, however the brackets flex due to the force placed on one strut only. Following the instructions for mounting was easy, but required some experimenting for final positioning of the brackets. Pros: Great price! Appear to be well built struts. Instructions for position calculating were easy to follow. Cons: Need to experiment for final bracket position. Brackets flex when working with heavy weights.

Spot on for the price. I used them on a large RV hatch(22”x48”). They worked well. There were no instructions to show direction of the mounting hardware. Initial install wouldn’t allow for it to close, flipped the brackets to create approximately 1” extra inch. What a difference an extra inch make. Opens and closes perfectly. I did add a reinforcement plate on the hatch side. Allowing for a larger foot print. 3”x3” piece of aluminum with 3m tape and additional screws in the corners.

Excellent product and price. works as designed. Installed on engine bay door for 2008 Beaver Contessa Westport. Although factory was 130lb struts these are 150 lbs in correct length. Work well you will need extra tools to install due to strength of struts. I used rachet straps to compress to proper install length. You will not be able to compress by hand.

I used these for the lid in my nesting boxes for the chicken coop I built. They were easy to install and allowed for easy adjustment to get the right fitment for my application.

Defective. The 300lb strut comes with weak hardware. The mounting brackets bent on first use and then a day later when it got cold outside it became far more difficult to use and oil sprayed out of the end.

No mounting screws included and the holes in the brackets are huge, had to make a trip to the hardware store to get washers because none of my screws had big enough heads

Thought the item was mis-delivered But was placed upstairs at a door at our garage. These are exactly as described and very very strong.

I was looking for very strong struts for my project to lift quite a heavy door and I have tried 3 different pairs before this one. Only criticism I’d place with mounting brackets, although they are looking substantial, they started to bend when under force, I had to put some extra supports.
