Use it for everything
Res-Q ointment is an everyday carry. Scrapes and cuts, pimples, chapped skin, cuticles, fresh tattoos, it's like ketchup - it goes on everything and makes it better.

Actually works, unlike most "synthetic" ointments.
I love this stuff, and swear by it for bug bite relief. I've made a believer of everyone I've used it on. My shipment arrived just in time. The mosquitos are awful this year. I have not been bitten so many times, in such a short amount of time. Even when I have spent time outdoors in mosquito infested areas. Apparently, being a recent transplant to the area, I am extrememly sensitive to the bites because of lack of exposure to this particular species of mosquito. Most of the bites result in nasty blisters, and a few have even caused silver dollar-size bruising/swelling. Some were so bad, my fiance thought I got burned. The itching is maddening. Other brands do nothing whatsoever to relieve the itch. This stuff though, actually provides relief. Note: It sometimes takes a few minutes, depending on how bad the bite is. Reapply as needed. My only issue is the cost. A little pricey if you ask me. I only paid about $2 the first time I bought it. Granted, that was several years ago, but still. When Burt's Bee's products first came out, they were reasonably priced. In the last several years, I have noticed an incredibly inflated ego that has resulted in much higher prices. Guessing the original owner either died or sold out to a corporate company that cares nothing about giving good quality at a good price. Also seems like the product doesn't work quite as good as the first time I bought it, but it's still better than anything else I have tried.

Very effective on burns and small enough to keep handy in a purse.
I cannot rate this product highly enough, I was unfortunate to get a pretty bad burn on my hand with no nearby first aid. I carry this small tin in my purse and I am glad I did, I kept reapplying every time my hand started to burn. The skin scarred as it was healing but it did not peel. I continue using the ointment to moisturize the tight skin, it has completely healed with no scarring.

Real MIRACLE Ointment (not an exaggerated term)
I can't run out of this. I really couldn't! I put one in each bag - mine, Hubby's, daughter's and son's. I've always thought of this as a big hoax 'til I experienced its "wonders" first hand. My sister-in-law exaggeratigly repeats "Burt's Bees! Burt's Bees!" each and everytime someone bumps their knees, holds something hot, gets an insect bite or whatever else. I didn't believe it at first 'til the vein on my left hand inflamed in 15 minutes after hitting it on a signage. It hurts so bad that I couldn't even lift a plate of pasta nor close my hand and hold a fork. When she found out what happened, she immediately placed some of this stuff. "Burt's Bees! Burt's Bees!" Uhuh. There she goes! She asked me to wait 'til the pain goes away and I'm like "Yeah, right. If I'm lucky, this will go away after 2-3 days with cold compress or something." I waited anyway and a miracle did happen. 30 minutes after, the pain started subsiding and I was alble to close my hand. 15 more minutes after that, the pain completely went away as if nothing happened to me! So yeahhh! Burt's Bees! Burt's Bees! I think it's because of one of the ingeredients it has - Comfrey. This ingredient is reffered to as a "bone healer". Too much of it though causes damage on the liver but I don't think that Burt's Bees Res-Q Ointment has too much of this ingredient that it can cause any harm. I use it on my kids and on myself. A real must-have!

Miracle for Cold Sores Too
I can affirm all the comments given, including that I keep spare cans to give away. My grandson carries one in his backpack. Having said that, it's essential for cold sores as well even though that is not an advertised purpose. It worked so well on burns, cuts, etc. that when I had that tingling sensation heralding the impending visit of a cold sore on my lip I used the ResQ ointment. I kept applying it until I no longer felt the "tingle" or "stitch" sensation. Suffice it to say I have never again had a cold sore successfully erupt. This product is not meant to be ingested so if you use it on your lip don't lick your lips, but it has been many years and this product has never failed to work for defeating a cold sore before it really becomes one as well as for all its other intended purposes. I read a review here that says the ingredients have been changed which causes me some concern as to its continued efficacy for cold sores, but we'll see what happens with the new cans I am ordering. This review pertains to the product I and my family have been using for years. I'll update this review should it be necessary.
