Sierra Designs Unisex Storm Poncho

I live in Colorado, home of afternoon thundershowers. I've slogged out many a trail in the rain. I was looking for a replacement poncho that was cut longer than most. This one is. It's also voluminous, so is naturally ventilating. It's big, and that's good, since I'm a pretty fast hiker and most waterproof gear makes me sweat unacceptably.It's better than most ponchos, so far being waterproof every time I've used it. It's pretty durable and seems made well. The red color, as I like to say, makes it easy for the rescue helicopter to spot :)I do wish I could find a poncho with longer sides and bottom. I'd like to cover more of my legs in the rain, ditto for my sleeves. This is the longest one I could find, so, along with its construction, that makes it best of breed.

I really like the open front of this poncho (which is why I was initially attracted to it) and the fact that it comes in sizes. Since I am short, I find that most ponchos are too long. The smaller size is perfect for me. Here in the Pacific Northwest, good rain gear is essential, and this now has a permanent place in my backpack.

Easy to carry for travel

This is a product that can be used in a multitude of outside uses. 1. A poncho that I recommend extending below the knees to keep legs drier. 2. In conjunction with 2 other bright red articles, can be used for an SOS seen from afar. 3. Can be used as a tent like shelter. This poncho is so LIGHT and COMPACTABLE, maybe it should be included in almost every outdoor adventure.

The poncho is fine and the color is great. I have had another SD poncho for the last five years and it has worn well. This one is a little lighter weight so may not hold up as well.

The product arrived as expected. Quality of the product was superb, and I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Super flimsy. This was not better quality than a $6 from the big blue store. I bought two and returned them both.
