Platinum Tools15041C BR1 Multi-Stripper, Red

The stripper that does it all (except cutting coax). I have used this on RG6Q coax, and also really thick Cat6A Shielded Plenum cable. No issues. I can, after a bit of adjustment, achieve the perfect concentric score. The Ethernet cable cutter portion is superb, creating nice clean and effortless cuts every time for me. The coax stripper portion I have used and it works well. I have no complaints, and this tool is truly one of the most useful in my tool bag. For others that have complained about it being "junk" all I can say is you either got a bad one or you don't know what you are doing. Enough said!

I have used this tool for limited applications but mainly for removing the pvc from cat 6 ethernet cables so I am limited to comment on that aspect of the tool. In my opinion, it would be nice if the cutter blade was at the edge of the device so one could see exactly where they were cutting as the blade is somewhat hidden. The knurled knob at the top of the tool adjusts the depth of the blade which is fine but it is not locked in place which means one must continually check and adjust after each cut otherwise the blade may cut too deep or not deep enough. Apart from those issues which may or may not affect others, it seems like a strong and useful tool that ......... could be better.

I used the multi-stripper to cut the sheath on CAT6 cable. The first few times it worked perfectly, but after several uses the adjustment knob for the cutting blade must have been moved (putting the tool in/out of a tool belt) because the blade started to nick the wires. Getting the blade depth adjusted properly since has been a problem (minor adjustments either move the blade too far away so that the knife doesn't score the outer sheath enough or it cuts too deeply). Now I have to test it on a scrap piece of wire before each use, which is very inconvenient. Although the adjustable cutting blade seems to be a good idea (allowing adjustments for different cables), it would be nice to have a lock so that the know doesn't move unintentionally between uses.

Sadly if you are using this to strip CAT6/CAT5/CAT5e cables the depth control doesn't have a lock and literally move after or during every single cut. The untwist functionality is nice...but is also s***ty...it should hold the pair in the side holes when you release so that you can spin quickly and be done...the straightener on the top is nice (saves your fingers)...on CAT6 there is a plastic insert in the middle separating the twisted pairs, this needs to be cut which this tool cannot do..honestly this tool is nice but i'm tired of having literally 4 tools (lockable stripper, snips, this tool, and a crimper) to do one connection (two per cable)

This tool is fantastic! It is so quick to dial in it's ridiculous. I find myself using it for all sorts of stripping needs. If you have to change the depth for a different size cable, you can do so in a matter of seconds and it seems that after doing a test cut or max of two it's dialed. It's lightweight and fits nicely in the hand. The construction of it seems practical and the price is great for a tool that just works.

crimps, strips etc.. just like the brochure. also cuts really well and is very versatile. didn't get 5 stars because the adjustable cutting blade does have a tendency to move after a few strips of cat5e/cat6 ubnt/ toughcable. As tilted this is a 'big red' and its much bigger than most cutters/strippers took a while to get used to having such a big item in my toolbelt.

No issues so far. I would definitely recommend this product again.

I terminate a good amount of RG6 and RG59 for work. I have had a lot of different multi-strippers and have found Platinum Tools to be among the best available. These 15041C are the best I have had in general. I really like the shape of these and they are well built. Also I really like the small piece of material on the bottom side that helps comb the shield down. Really well thought out and well made. I recommend this for anyone looking at a multi-stripper

Not so sure about this. It cuts well and is easy to use. The main flaw is the adjustment of the stripper blade. There is a small dial on the to set the depth but it does stay in place and I had to adjust it every time I used it. Too much bother for me so I now use the Platinum Cyclops. It is much easier to use.

So far it works fine for what I am using it for. I've done a lot of connections but I'm not using it on a daily basis.
