Beautiful LEGO®

Beautiful LEGO is a book that fits its title to a tee. It is chock full of stunning and original art made completely from LEGO blocks. The book is done in full color on heavy paper stock and feels and looks high quality. It’s an excellent “coffee table book”. When people see the cover they will immediately want to look inside. Inside they will find hundreds of wonderful photos of LEGO sculptures that range in size from just a few bricks and a few inches high to complex life-sized sculptures containing thousands of bricks. The sculptures are very diverse and cover all sorts of subjects - from wildlife, to pop-culture characters, to architecture. Each sculpture is fascinating to look at, and to appreciate not only the overall appearance, but also the artists’ creative use of various LEGO bricks. As a child who would always follow the instructions, seeing the creative and wonderful things that people can do when they don’t, is inspiring and fun. As if the wonderful images weren’t enough there are also interviews with the artists scattered throughout the book that are very informative and enjoyable. All in all… it’s amazing what can be done with simple LEGO bricks.

This is a highly recommended Lego book for any builder or fan. For new builders, this will serve as a compilation of inspiring models at your fingertips, and for experienced builders, this is a perfect way to show friends what you do. A book like this doesn’t need words to explain itself, the creations will do all the talking and delight all who’s curious to open its covers. The variety of artists represented in this coffee table tome is impressive: ranging from those who have perfected Lego replication of the household mundane to those who create full-on mythical landscapes like Doyle himself. The one thing all these artists have in common is the keen ability to think outside the brick. If you’re feeling like you need some Lego inspiration to expand your horizons, this is definitely the book for you. Below is a small sampling of the artists and works Doyle showcases.

I bought this as a gift and the book was in good shape when it arrived and paging through it, was full of unique pictures if Lego builds. My adult nephew looked through it right away. I felt like the price was fair.

Lego's have been a fascination of mine since I was a small boy. I was always amazed at how you could take these blocks and build just about anything. This is probably the foundation for why I was drawn to engineering. In this book, I was amazed at how far people could take lego art. It is truly wonderful how the human mind can design and build such wondrous things with just plastic blocks that can be linked together. I recommend this book to all lego fans. It has the ability to awe and inspire.

If not, there's something wrong with you! I have loved Lego's ever since I was 2 or 3 years old and now I'm about to turn 40! I just ordered this book as a gift for a contractor friends of mine who just finished a major remodel and I thought he deserved an awe inspiring coffee table book for his home. Hat's off to the contributors of this book! The pictures in this book are phenomenal and amazing! Such beautiful and mind blasting creations! I guarantee you will not want to put this book down! I want to go to my parents house and dig out my old Lego's that are in storage and build a masterpiece!

Beautiful LEGO offers many photographs to inspire the LEGO enthusiast. While there are no instructions (I knew this) the photos are clear and fun! A great coffee table book and an inspiration to the beginner and the expert LEGO builders alike.

This is a well done Lego book. The creations featured are perfect examples of adult built models, as most (if not all) do not include any mini figured themed builds. It has a diverse collection of sculptural builds of everyday things, such as food, animals, and vehicles, as well as big and small architecture builds with themes ranging from realistic to pure imagination. The level of detail within the builds allows you to look over it again and again and pick up something new each time. And despite the variety of builds and inclusion of many different builders and styles, everything is cohesive and beautifully laid out. It's the perfect coffee table book, as both kids and adults will be wowed by the content. *I received a copy for review - all opinions are my own*

Más que un libro sobre Lego parece el catálogo de un museo o de una galería de arte. Impresionantes creaciones de todo tipo, ordenadas por autores, entre ellos los españoles ARVO. Un regalo prefecto para inspirar a todo aquel que se esté iniciando en crear sus propias construcciones. Ojo, no trae instrucciones, solo fotos finales y algunas entrevistas, en inglés, con los principales creadores que exponen en él sus obras. El único "pero" es que la calidad de la impresión no es muy buena, con colores algo apagados y páginas poco satinadas para un libro de fotografía, pero a este precio... Compra o regalo obligado para todo aficionado adulto (y no tanto) de Lego

This is a beautiful book! To be honest the above statement says it all; however, there has to be more than 20 words. You will not find instructions in here, but you will find lots and lots of high quality photos of fabulous Lego art. Models included cover many themes such as Monsters, Aliens, Birds, People , Buildings, Mosaics, Space Ships and much more. There are a few interviews with the artists themselves but this is really a book of photographs. It is impossible to pick a favourite, and even the models in themes I am not that interested in are stunning. There is nothing about this book that is wrong... well perhaps just one thing; there are no aircraft, but perhaps that could form part of a second book. If you love Lego you will love this book and if you don't but love ingenuity and art then you will love it to... this book has given me so much inspiration! And finally Mike Doyle, can we have more! Great read. Plenty of awesome pictures of incredible artists with some very impressive LEGO Art. Nice interviews with some top LEGO Artists. Good inspiration, and a must read book for a LEGO Fan.
