Nice Light, the Top is not sealed water tight. Still a great little light, enjoy !
The top is not sealed and can be taken off, then it can be sealed with silicone glue. There are two screws in the bottom, take them out, and the top can be removed and sealed properly. I use GE Silicone GLUE, NOT regular silicone. Seal the bottom too. The circuit is powered by a 1.2 volt 800 mAh cell that is soldered on the PV cell. With a full charge (1.38 Volts) the unit will flash all night. The Solar panel has a circuit board that is integrated into the back of the PV panel. It has a couple of resistors and a capacitor and what looks like a choke for, or is the inductor? It also has what looks like a tiny 555 timer, the components are set up similar to a 555 flashing circuit. See You Tube. The solar panel, AA cell & circuit being incorporated into one piece is great. No Wires. The low light "turn on" is decent, charging was at a decent rate, so it has a decent, protected Solar (PV) Cell. The panel is a tight fit in the top but not glued in, it will pop out after you remove the two screws that go through the red holder. The top is solid and the PV cell inside is protected from acidity in the rain. A cell with more mAh could be added. I would go no higher than 1300 mAh. 1.2 volt. Overall, it is built very well, better than most Chines solar stuff. I added a switch leg with a push button switch to the bottom of one unit in the pic. The Switches were bought here. It would be nice if the body were made of glass, that way the sun won't destroy it. The solar lights I build are in glass jars, upside down & silicone glue, they do not leak, fade, or crackle. Super bright, visible for a great distance!!
Installed 3 of these on 6 ft steel T rail posts and tapped 3/4 in gray conduit over the posts. Post were hammered 3 feet into the ground. They have worked flawlessly since installing, they have been through several big downpours with no problems! Installed these to see if it would stop people from driving into our yard. We live on a slight curve and for past 2 years 5 people have missed the curve and have driven into our yard. Very hard not to see now!! I would definitely recommend these I’ve been using them for over 3 months with no problems.

I wish it had a switch to turn it off
Right ... So I got this light installed where I wanted it, let it charge up and waited for dark to see how it performed. It actually did pretty well, I would have liked it a bit brighter on the (what they refer to as angle eye lenses) I know they purposely made it without a switch to make it more "waterproof" but I wish it had a switch to turn it off. I really think that would have been easy to deal with, I have another solar light that does ok with the installed switch. I just can't think it would be good for the battery to let it run down dead when the light goes into storage in-between uses. So for those reasons I dropped 1 star. I like the mount, I have it clamped on a pole and when I need to remove the light for a time I can leave the mount clamped in place and remove the light from its base easily.

Custom modifications
I tailored the product to my application. I need the light to point in only two directions (East and West), so I removed two of the six LEDs that point North and South. The product's circuit design will naturally redistribute the power that would have gone to those two LEDs to the remaining four, making them brighter. I stabilized the remaining LEDs mechanically using silicone glue. In my application, the product will be covered in snow occasionally, so I need the charge to last for more than a day. I replaced the existing 800 mAh battery with a 2800 mAh battery. Note also that NiMH battery capacity drops dramatically at low temperature. I also added a AA battery holder, since soldering directly to battery terminals is not a good idea. If you do this, be careful not to reverse polarity, since there is no reverse-polarity protection. The battery holder acts as an on/off switch, since you can slide the battery back in the holder to turn off the unit. Another advantage to replacing the battery is that replacement batteries come precharged, whereas the existing battery arrives discharged. I have provided the datasheet for the controller chip with this review. Note that the inductor in the product is 33 uH. You could, in principle, replace that inductor with a lower value to make the LEDs brighter. The inductor is inside the small piece of black foam rubber, which is used for reducing radio interference. The QX5252 is functionally equivalent to the YX861A. Operating frequency is about 180 kHz. I experimented with alternative LEDs, but I found that the LEDs that came with the product are brighter than any alternative that I tried. Some reviewers have sealed the top using silicone glue, but I think this is unnecessary. The lip at the top interlocks in a way that provides good moisture protection.

This will run all night long. Strong battery

Perhaps my expectations were too high.
These lights basically did what they said they would do. They charged up in the daylight hours and worked all night. Where I am disappointed is in the brightness. Perhaps my expectations were too high however, I thought they would be brighter and be able to be clearly seen from a greater distance.

Durable
Great little light. Replaced this on top of the tower crane 150 feet in the air and through all the elements andvtwo months later it works perfect

Bought to scare off geese and it seems to be working. It’s decently bright flashing green light that turns on and off with the sun. Works as I need it to.

This product flashes all night even in freezing weather. Can be seen at a long distance down the road. I use them for lane way markers

I took these up North to act as markers for navigating by boat at night on a hunting trip. They work and saved us in pitch black with no moon light or points of reference. Red is most visible out to a couple km, green is also bright easily visible out to a kilometre. Blue was barely visible and you would need to be within 500m to see it and you would need to be looking for it. Battery life was excellent, I tested them in my garden shed which is pitch black. Red strobes lasted approximately 10 days running continuously, green lasted about 12-13 days. The blue light maybe lasted 5 days. Hopefully the batteries still work next year, very happy with this purchase.
