Sun Bum Curls and Waves Detangler

I absolutely love Sun Bum Wave Cream. I literally use it every single day. I get compliments on my hair all the time. People always look surprised when I tell them that my curl is natural, and I credit this curl cream for that fact. I have tried so many different hair products for curly hair, and none of them make my curls look as good as this curl cream does. Even the higher end, salon products aren't as good as the Sun Bum cream, making this an amazing value. It has a very lightweight hold. It never makes my hair crunchy or stiff. It smells great, a bit like coconuts, but it is not overpowering at all. It leaves my hair shiny and healthy looking as it gently encourages my hair to have a bouncy curl. My favorite feature of this cream is that it gets rid of all the static. I use it on wet and dry hair. It only takes a small dab, about the size of two peas, so one tube lasts a long time. My hair tends to get oily fast, and I can use this every day without it making my hair oily or look dirty. When my hair is dry, I just put a dab of this cream in my palm, rub my hands together, and then pat it through my hair. Then I gently comb through my hair, then scrunch the curls back in for a quick refresh. I love this cream and hope they never stop making it.

He has curly/thick hair (between a type 3a to 3b that gets frizzy and large/poofy curls with even a drop of humidity) and this works really well to give his curls hydration and definition. He isn’t into hair gels/any sort of product that makes the hair crunchy so this is perfect. It doesn’t make his hair look greasy and the smell isn’t overpowering but makes the hair smell nice. This isn’t for you if you like a strong, super defined look/curl. For him it works and keeps his curls maintained and hydrated for the style he likes! Any sun bum products for curls he approves of (

People with curly hair have more porous hair and generally require more conditioning. That's my hair and I love it. I have always had thick curly hair. However, this means my hair needs some tlc (tender loving care) and extra conditioning. I bought the Curls & Waves detangler. I wanted to try this because it is meant for curly hair. While it does detangle my hair, it takes me more product to do the job. If I use a not so good conditioner, my hair does not feel as soft & I need to use even more product when I use this detangler. I prefer Sun Bum Revitalizing 3 in 1 Leave-In Conditioner Spray Detangler. It gets the job done faster with less product, love the smell, and my hair feels silky. I've used this one for years and it will be the one I will continue to use. Even when I swim everyday, this one keeps my hair silky. This particular item might work better for others with different hair types than mine. That is why I wanted to be specific with the type of hair I have. Hope this helps.

If you have not tried this, you MUST. It has been a staple for my hair care routine for at least two years. Not crunchy necessarily but you do have to scrunch when it dries to get the product to separate curls. I have fine, thin hair that is very wavy, but not kinky curls. Like I said, you do have to scrunch it a little to get your hair to separate, and it allows my hair to fluff up for volume. Great hold. I can actually go two to three days without wash. I just scrunch water through my hair in the morning and it springs back to life. I love the scent. Not greasy. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

I use this on both curly and straight hair, and it’s the best detangler I’ve found. It helps get through knots without a struggle and doesn’t leave hair greasy or heavy, it’s the perfect moisturizer. The smell is amazing—light, beachy, and not overpowering. My hair is wavy and honestly I don’t even know what I’m doing taking care of it. I do know that for simple days I use Maui curl cream which is awesome, and for full styling days, I use this product which is so lightweight. Even though I have a lot of hair it’s fine. This smells yummy like all of their products, very soft, and helped keep my waves in line with no frizz. It didn’t dry out my hair which is a major plus. It’s a silky texture; I also use more than it says to. I use more like a quarter size for each side. Honestly great for touch ups too so it holds up well for my hair type. A bonus, if it does protect against the sun that’s amazing because my kiddos have sports five times a week, one of them being tennis which is outside for several hours.

If you like a little bit more of a gel consistency and a little bit more crunch to your hair, this will work for you! It does bring out my curls but I don’t like crunchy feeling to my hair. Not much scent. I wouldn’t order again.
