So, I am brand new to tatting! I tried a shuttle at first but could not score enough “successes” for me to want to pursue this creative outlet. I was watching loads of YouTube videos on how to, but that damn knot flip thing is HARD! Anywho, I saw a video on needle tatting and LOVED IT!!! I can do this!!! If you are wanting to learn how to tat, this is the best place to start!! Build your confidence and pattern reading skills here and get some “wins” under your belt, then try shuttle tatting if you really want to progress your work. There are a few minor differences between the two. I would strongly recommend that you make sure to follow NEEDLE TATTING PATTERNS!! Some patterns can be adapted and work well with both styles, others… not so much. Pros: they work great!! The needle threader is top quality!!! I love it!! The little insert that comes with it is great for getting started!!! 10/10 Recommend!! Speedy delivery, packaged well. The only thing is, I wish they had included instructions on how to read thread information. Because I don’t know what I am picking up at the craft store. I will absolutely be ordering some Lisbeth thread/yarn for my nicer pieces when I am more proficient. For now it’s just what I can find and learn on! Cons: None. Happy tatting!! I received the needles with an extra needle and two threaders. One threader broke on the 1rst use. Now the needles are good. I didn't realize that the difference between shuttle tatting and needle tatting is that shuttle tatting makes for a thicker ring, since it uses two threads. So I will be using needle tatting on delicate work.

These tatting needles are perfect! Includes 3 needles, different sizes for tatting with different size threads, 2 threaders (for threading needles and cutting thread - one for fine thread and the other for medium thread) It also comes with basic instructions(includes photos) for holding the thread, making a double stitch, ring, and picot. Also includes a pattern for making a "Basket Pattern for Note Card" (very cute:). In addition, the kit includes a needle selection guide with the size needle to use that corresponds to the size thread for that needle. Very helpful for anyone new to needle tatting. I'm fairly new to tatting:) The needles are BLUNT on the ends! In the past, I ordered tatting needles from a different company and the were "doll needles" for sewing and the ends of the needles were very sharp. I'm very pleased to say these needles are perfect and blunt on the ends. So your fingers won't be picked while tatting:) Happy Tatting!
