Good price, and well sealed from the air. When storing any dry goods at camp that may not be used for a while, the air in the bucket needs to be eliminated from above the food. These packets do the job perfectly. Check out Home Depot for their basic 5 gal plastic buckets, add a Gamma Seal screw top lid (Home Depot) with some of these packets and you have a storage system that is reasonable in price and can be used for years to come. Gamma Lids were made for storing pet food in standard buckets, but they work just as well for human food. These packets extend the shelf life by years and years. They do need to be replaced after frequent openings.

I was a bit hesitant to try them but once I plunged into dry storing my pasta and rice it became the star of the operation. Fill the mason jars, drop in an oxygen absorber. Screw on the cap and wait 30 mins....little snap and mo more air. I appreciate that they come wrapped in several air sealed bags so you do not have to expose all of them to air while working with them. i prepare a bag for my vac sealer before I open them. When finished I seal up the remainder. Good product. Simple and works.

I got these to use for storing rice in vacuum bags. So far so good, they came well packaged, I used several and then re-sealed them in a vacuum bag for use later. 03-03-2013 Update I tested one of these packets to see how much they would absorb. I took a generic sandwich baggie (sandwich not pint quart or other) and fully inflated it and put the oxygen absorber in it. After about 5 days it had consumed almost all of the oxygen in the baggie and there was only a minimal amount of air in the bag. Over all I am very satisfied and would recommend this item and plan on ordering more.

I wanted to address the freshness tab issue that a lot of people are talking about. When I ordered these I used them in my mason jars storing rice. I fill it with rice, then add the oxygen absorber and tightly cap the top. Later that day I could hear the mason jars, one by one, making a "pop!" sound. This was the sound of the lid being vacuum-sucked back to the inside of the jar. For me, this is proof that these oxygen absorbers are fresh and that they're working in case anyone has any doubts. I would have no doubts about ordering this product again because they absorbed the oxygen from my mason jars very well.

The OxySorb did exactly what they were meant to do, they seal the jars I use for long term food storage. I would recommend them to anyone, But don't open the package until you have something airtight to put them in until ready to use. They are sold as oxygen absorbers and they do that well. But the ones you are to use later should go into a mason jar until you are ready to use them, they will not last but about 20 minutes in the open air. Beware of this. The 300 CC are large enough to seal 1/2 gallon Mason jars. Floyd Flud

These 300cc absorbers obviously work very well. They are used commercially in many products, keeping them fresh and lengthening their shelf life. I use them at home in many products like my gourmet rice collection and other food items we stockpile. Great for dry snacks, things like beef jerky, grains and such. For SUPER protection, use one in a vacuum-sealed glass jar (using the Foodsaver!) and many dry food products will last indefinitely.

I use these for sealing dry goods in canning jars, They works great, Just stick with the size recomended for the containers you use, The price on them is great, If you are needing a good O2 absorber give these a try. Even if you aren't using them for canning I suggest getting a quart glass jar and air tight lid to keep the extra's in, And they will last a good long time

I can't be of much help at this point as they have just been purchased. I have used them for long term storage but only time will tell how they functioned. Ask me again in a year;s time.
