These stools are easy to assemble, super sturdy, comfortable to sit on, and beautiful to look at. I've spent four times as much on furniture that is half as good. I highly recommend!

Just received the two stools for my outside Tiki bar. They seem to be very sturdy. They arrived almost overpacked in a styrofoam lined heavy box that I think I will have to repurpose. The stools were very easy to assemble with the included tools. It took about a half-hour to put both of them together. Extra hardware was supplied but not needed. I ordered two stools to see if they were worth having. I think I need two more. If there is one complaint, the seat top is an odd size. If I decide we need seat cushions, they need to be custom-made.

I am very satisfied with the appearance, and quality of the barstools. The assembly involves machine (not wood) screws screwed into factory placed metal inserts in the wood. This is quality construction. However, they have one quirk worth knowing. Two wood cross bars have to be attached with a total of 4 screws. The manufacturer chose to hide these screws by having them inserted inside pockets milled into the cross bars. This makes it impossible to start the screws with your fingers, which is recommended to prevent cross-threading. There is an Allen wrench included that has a short square cut arm, and a long ball ended arm. The ball arm allows the screws to be turned quickly, but the side load pushes the screw sideways, so they cannot be easily started. The square cut end allows the screw to be guided into the insert, but the screw can only be turned about 1/6 turn without removing and replacing the wrench. Thus, the choice to hide these screws, makes this part of the assembly a real pain. The instructions, generally well done and clear, do not offer assistance with selecting the correct orientation of the Allen wrench. For people not familiar with tools, this part of the assembly could be even more difficult. Thus, this somewhat long note. Would I buy these stools again? Yes, but I would be prepared for some frustration.

Know your counter/bar height before purchasing. These are a bit too tall for my kitchen counter, leaving little leg room when sitting. We had to move them to our outdoor bar which these were perfect for. We will have to add a finish to seal the wood for longer outdoor use. Overall they are pretty and sturdy. Feels of real wood and all pieces were even/level and accounted for with a few extra screws. They were easy to assemble and we added wood glue in each hole before adding screws for a better hold. Oh and they comfortable for larger backsides ;-D

Bought these with many mixed reviews. The reviews say the stools break after awhile, but I am understanding why. When you assemble them the screws are tight. After a few uses the screws get loose. Easily tighten them up as the wood becomes compressed. Easy.

I'm a 67-year-old woman and put these together myself. I had bought two. Yes, I read the directions and of course, the 2nd one was easier than the first one. They give you one extra part for the nut, washer, screw, and even an extra Allen wrench. The directions are written well, in English. Easy Peasy. They look nice and I oiled them for outside. Awesome buy. My ONLY complaint is that the stickers which help with assembly are stuck a little too well to the inside of the legs, which shows if you leave them on. I used my fingernail to scrape the labels off, and then a little "Goo Gone". I still love the stools!

The four star ratings above are self explanatory. These stools are extremely well made securely support this big (6'5" 300lb) guy. When I oiled them with teak oil the wood grains really came out and looked very close to other teak furniture I have. When used outside, the oil allows water to shed and are easily wiped off. I use them indoors and outdoors and they are perfect height for my kitchen and outdoor bars.

Is it possible to get a replacement cross-piece? One of them was damaged (cracked) when it arrived, and cannot be properly tightened.
