First, a little background. Some jerk had thrown a concrete baseball through one of my bedroom windows about eight weeks ago. Right after this happened, the very same day, I ordered a cheapie system from another company, whose blue name I won't mention. I spent over three weeks trying to get that thing to work, on the phone, online, and it honestly nearly gave me a nervous breakdown. Fast forward to two weeks ago, when I ordered my SimpliSafe system. I installed this myself in under ten minutes, and I'm NOT handy around the house or anything like that. It's that easy to set up and install. Best of all, I'm not on the edge of a nervous breakdown, and this system works. SimpliSafe works very, very well. I got a small system because I live on a fixed income and had just bought a security system (pause for laughter) from these other people. I'll order more parts when I get paid next time. I did order an extra panic button to put on the wall beside my bed, for medical emergencies as well as home intrusion invasions. This system works very well, is dependable, and is a lifesaver, literally, for anyone with major medical problems who's in a bad way. I'm not in poor health, but I'm not getting any younger, either. Plus I needed a panic button there anyway for security. When I call SimpliSafe, which I haven't had to do very often, I don't have to wait over 90 seconds for a live agent. I do think SimpliSafe could vastly improve its online chat feature; you have to answer a bunch of questions and then you get ignored for a while. I never got to the chat part because my dog had to go outside. Excellent product, wonderful security system that's very, very easy to set up and easy to use. If I can set this system up and running in under ten minutes, no one else is going to have any problems, because putting things together is not something I'm good at, for sure. This system gives me the peace of mind to go to bed before 4:00 a.m., which I lost when someone threw a concrete baseball into my bedroom. I just kept finding more and more work to do at night, so I wouldn't have to go to sleep. No more. This is a wonderful starter system for a new SimpliSafe customer like me. I'd give it ten stars if I could. You get a 30-day free trial of their monitoring systems, and then you can get a system yourself at a very reasonable price. You can return the equipment if you don't like it, but I'll bet that doesn't happen very often. I especially like the panic buttons. Sometimes that might be all you have time to push, no time to talk, when you have an emergency. I'd recommend this system, its accessories, and its monitoring plans to anyone who wants to start small and build on that.

Overall I'm really pleased with the system and the functionality and customer service. I have had it a month and i am sticking with the $27.99 full monitoring plan and I don't think that's too much for peace of mind and protection of my home, family, and belongings. I love the instantaneous response of the sensors and calls from the monitoring center. If you have a security camera of any brand, you get the frustration of delayed or lack of notifications. SimpliSafe sensors are instant! I put a drop of water in my water sensor to test it, and instantly the siren went off, my phone got a notification, and less than 10 seconds later the monitoring center was calling me. This is absolutely crucial during an incident. I have Nest cameras and they're good for knowing what happened after the fact and watching live but NOT good enough if you want to catch someone in the act. I don't have SimpliSafe cameras but i understand they are just as bad with delayed notifications/ missed events. I feel the sensors are a crucial part of a total security system for the very fact that they are instant. That all being said, I want to give it 5 stars but I experienced a total system crash when my internet went out for a few seconds right before I went out of town. The base station unpaired from all of my devices and did not reconnect once the internet was back up. Customer service assured me this is not supposed to happen and are sending me a replacement base station. I was so disappointed that I could not get my system to work at the most important time. I relied on my cameras while I was out of town to watch over my house. I'll give it another chance just because of the fantastic customer service and free replacement equipment and that it works so well when the internet is working.

We bought this system and I installed it myself after reading reviews that said it was easy to do. It indeed, was very simple to set up. The app is very easy and user-friendly. I did have to adjust the blinds to fit the window sensors in so that the blinds didn’t hit them. We have two dogs and they do not set off the sensors, just as SimpliSafe stated. The keypad control panel is impressive, it comes on as soon as you put your hand in front of it. It’s very easy to use and load new devices. The faub is handy to quickly arm or disarm. We feel much safer with the system set up. We just have to remember that it’s set! We did set it off a couple times in the morning, taking the dogs out. Quickly disarmed and all was well. We also bought the water leak sensors, they work great, too! We’ve called customer service a few times, and they have been very helpful. Overall, we are very, very happy.

I bought this system purely to have a notification sent to my phone that a door has been opened. I installed most of the hardware that comes in the smaller kit except for the motion sensor as that is something I didn’t need or want. I tested the door sensors and I heard the chime from the base station but I received no text message or notification on my phone that a door had opened. I reached out to customer service and they had to fix some software on their end so I gave them 24 hrs to figure it out. Received a message the following day that all was well and when I tested it again, I received no messages that a door had opened. I reached back out to customer service and come to find out that the only way to receive a simple message on my phone about a door opening, I had to pay for a subscription which was not my intention of use for this setup. The customer service then said that if I had their camera that I could receive notifications without a subscription but not for the door alarms. I do not want cameras in my home otherwise I would have bought the kit that had one that came with it. Unfortunately after all the ‘influencers’ and YouTubers that have recommended this device, I am not satisfied by this simple need of a notification about a door being opened and will not recommend this device if this is something you are only requiring too. I have a 3yr old escape artist and this is why I really needed a notification sent to my phone. I hope they improve this for future customers.

I got a SimpliSafe alarm 5 piece starter kit and it is awesome. It has a fair price, pretty easy to use, the connectivity is very easy, fast, and works far from the base station, noise level and sound quality are great and can be changed easily, and the battery life is great. I got the system maybe 2 months ago and had to trouble with it. SimpliSafe, keep doing what you are doing because this is the future of home security.

So far so good 👍 I've tried several different systems. This one is the best by far for setup. You could almost throw the parts on the floor and it's good to go 😉😊

Super easy to set up. Easy to use from the app, I went with the $24.99 plan. No complaints, I like the different *settings options. You can choose push notifications or text alerts or both. It was either 48 or 72 hours you have to play with it, test your alarm before monitoring starts, you het an alert when it does, you get alerts if your WiFi signal goes down, and when it’s reestablished(has cellular back up) and battery backup if power is lost. Siren is loud enough to get your neighbor’s attention as well. It also runs an automatic system test every 24 hours. I used the tape provided to install all the components, comes with screws is you choose to use them. I ordered another door sensor and motion sensor, easy to add the new components to the system, I deactivated my key fob while out of town so not to have to carry it with me, and reactivated it after returning, it gives you those options, as well as multiple codes for other users without giving guests you master code which is the code used for making changes with the system.

Base station station sits right next to router & modem, after several reboots several times a day, still won't stay connected to Wi-Fi making the smart phone app totally useless. So glad I didn't waste time or money signing up SimpliSafe monitoring! So now there's a constant trouble signal when you opt not to sign up for monitoring. Absolutely ridiculous! System is not reliable at all whether at or away from home. Buyers beware and refrain from purchasing a product that has too many issues and no fixes. I miss my Google Secure already! Now have to find a DIY security system that actually works. I only gave it one star because I couldn't submit the review otherwise and 0 stars wasn't an option. SMH!
