Recommended Tutorial.......
If you are a beginner this book is great as it assumes so. But at the same times it doesn't confuse you with unnecessary stuff. Dwells upon all the aspects of how to proceed with making simple designs using keypoints and nodes and also on using or importing advanced solid models (IGES or STEP etc.). Salient feature of this tutorial is that it drives home the most important FEM concepts through simple example problems. Definitely recommend.

Adequate Resource
This book got me started. I quickly ran out of material however and had to find something that was a bit more detailed. ANSYS is quiet involved and can't be contained within a few short examples. But if you just want to get going, this is the perfect place to start.
