Can I use it as a 24 hours monitor? Ie does it do automatic readings?

This instrument is designed for static measurements ie you sit at a desk and take the measurement. This can be done several times a day if you so choose. There are products on the market that will, as you suggest, make measurements over a 24 hr period -these tend to be for professional use only and cost several thousand pounds.

Is it possible to revert to using the excellent previous app and discard the slow, ugly, complicated new one?

I assume the original has been taken off "Play" so I just ignore the option to update to the new version. Not much help if you've already loaded the new one, sorry

how do you transfer the readings from the RS3 app to a windows pc?

You can only transfer direct to Omron’s app. Then, from the app, you can export the data as a cvs file and email it to yourself. That way you have the file on your computer and can open it with a spreadsheet or whatever. Hope this helps you.

NO...... It uses 2 X AAA batteries ! My RS2 must be at least 2 years old and still working with the original batteries
