Using it as a work bench light. Plenty bright. LED bulb - no heat.

The lamp does what it says it will, but I found concerns with the clamp's quality. Let's go over the checklist that Amazon gave me while typing the review, as it touches base on everything I want to comment on. Flexibility: The lamp has no problems reaching across a 3ft by 2ft desk, when installed on the side, for whatever I may be working on. The arm easily holds any position I put it in. It will struggle to cross a desk larger than 5 or 6 feet wide and 3 or 4 feet deep, if installed on the back. Clamp Strength: The biggest flaw of this lamp. The cheap plastic clamp has difficulty establishing a confidence-inspiring hold on the desk. The only redeeming factor is that it has screw holes, so you can bolt it down. Brightness/Light Quality: The included bulb is of an acceptable quality. No shimmer or flicker was observed, and a decently bright, pleasant (to me at least) daylight glow greeted me upon turning it on. No immediately obvious CRI defects. I have not used it long enough to comment on durability or longevity. Functionality: You can replace the bulb with any bulb you want. It's only nameplated for up to 25w, but I've used up to 60w in it without damage. Summary: Overall, this is a decent lamp let down by a poor quality plastic clamp. It seems to be holding for now, but it took a bit of effort and trial-and-error for me to get it to a place where I actually feel comfortable with it. Even then, if I pivot it opposite its clamp direction, it looks like it wants to break off the desk. I have it mounted on the right of a sit-stand desk, with a small side-table (that holds a PC, a few chargers, and a number of trinkets) to the right of the desk. If I pivot the lamp over the edge to work with the side table, the clamp gets disconcertingly bendy. I struggle to decide whether to give it 3 or 4 stars. Consider it a 3.5 rounded up, because it's a good lamp other than that clamp.

Replaced the same lamp I bought a decade or more ago. The plastic base broke. This one, the new one, the plastic piece is metal. Maybe they figured out its weak spot? I like it.

The clamp won't hold onto my desk's ever-so-slightly-rounded edge, it goes on, but won't stay secure and slides off. Likewise, it won't hold to the wire shelving I have nearby. I recall lamps of this type having larger, more substantial clamps. Too late to return as I'd discarded the packaging, I ended up purchasing a weighted base that works well, but now I've spent too much: Phive 7.8" Round Heavy Desk Lamp Base ( Suitable for LK-1 CL-2 Architect Swing Arm LED Desk Lamp). I wish I'd purchased the Bostitch version with the weighted base. Original review: I needed a lamp over my large desk that could reach to light my work space. This lamp does the trick. I recall having lamps in this exact style many years ago; I also recall they were of a heavier construction and would last for years. This lamp is put together the same way but the metal and parts are much lighter. I don't know if it will stand up to any kind of rough use, but hey, I will be gentle with it. I like that the tension springs are black, as is the lamp itself. It came with the brand name BOSTITCH in block letters on the shade -- that is a sticker that peels off easily. There are knobs on the articulating joints to keep it tight and prevent sagging. I notice that the lamp will pop out of the clamp base, due to its light weight, so when adjusting the angle, I will be careful. Another note: I hope the included LED bulb lasts a long time; they have provided an extremely light-weight bulb, again, no sagging. I find the light sufficiently bright and of a pleasant hue.

Ugly as hell but made well and durable. One of the only desk lights that allows ypu to buy and replace the bulb. Also allows ac plug. The usb clip lights are cute and much easier to use to do my mani pedi. But the don't last more than 30 days and you can't change the bulb. So it's hideous and clunky but it gets the job done. Very well packaged so that bulb was intact and works well. I use one once a month to do my nails. I wish it came with a clip.

At first, I loved this; however, as time went on it ended up being more of a pain than anything. The mounting method was horrible. Every time I went to move the lamp to a different part of my desk because of re-organizing and re-arranging it made me want to throw the lamp through the window. So much so that when my wife asked for a lamp I ordered her a completely different one (shown below) because this one was just such a pain to mount. Rather than having the usual turn bar, like most lamps, this one had a nut you had to tighten and a top mounting part that had no actual secure method so often times it would act like it was tight and mounted and then you'd move it and it would fall. So I finally gave up and ordered myself the same one I got for my wife, which was 100% better. Mounted hers 5x for re-arrangements as well and never once had an issue. So I finally gave up on mine, took the bulb out and threw the entire thing away and ordered the same one I ordered my wife and now I've had no issues. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS - it will make you want to hulk out because someone was too cheap to put the normal mounting mechanism on the lamp and stuck with a nut. Very bright, had to put a mesh under it so it don't bother my eyes. But really good overall.

Avoid purchasing this lamp. It was not disclosed anywhere that it comes with a foreign power plug incompatible with Australian power outlets.

No es verdad que sea toda de metal, la mariposa para apretar el cabezal es de plástico. Pero en términos generales está bien construida y trae incluido un foco de luz de día. Recomendable.

Es muy ligero el material por lo que lo hace frágil, la parte donde se soporta el brazo no tiene con qué ajustar para que esté más seguro solo se asienta y listo eso no me agradó
