What a great set of knives for the money!
I took some time buying these knives. My neighbour had a Santoku knife, but I couldn't afford the one she had. I am so pleased I went for this set. They are as good as her one, nicely weighted for me, very sharp and you get three for the price. I love them and have recommended them to several of my friends, who I know will love them too.

Just what I needed.
I know these have mixed reviews and reading them I can see why but all I can write about is my own experience with these knives. Mine arrived quickly and boxed although the packaging did make them look cheap. The knives themselves are great and I love em. They are probably not going to be good enough for a professional chef and if you are a chef then you should know better. These are very comfortable to use grip with the largest being perfectly balanced. They are dishwasher safe but as someone else said your bettor off washing them after use and wipe the blades with a little cooking oil. I have never used these sort of knives before having used the more traditional set for years I was a bit worried about using them. They are a little bit strange at first but very quickly became like I had been using them for years. The shape of the blades make for very accurate cutting and slicing. If I get a couple of years out of these I will consider them a absolute bargain. Very much a essential buy for any casual chef.

On the cutting edge !
For the price these are a real steal ! I use mine every day at work. Can't fault them . Retain sharpness and well balanced. If you want a status symbol hand crafted in the mountains of Japan knife for 10 X this price then go ahead. But these - in the right hands - will do all you need !

Groovy set of Santoku knives
Very good. I must confess, I'm not really the kind of person these sort of things were designed for. Cooking shows leave me cold, and I don't appear to have been born with the genes necessary for being attracted to 'celebrity' chefs. Having said that, these were a decent price, and the right spec (and my attention span probably came into play). I've been using them regularly for a while now and they keep an edge pretty well. They are robust, well balanced and sit well in my hand. They have been through the dishwasher a hundred times and survived without any noticeable problem. They also have fluted blades, however, these have no discernible practical advantage over any non-fluted knife I have ever used/owned. Though they don't work, the flutes look pretty. So that's nice. All-together a good product and recommended. Four stars. I would give them five if they didn't have some bloke's name on them.

Brilliant
These knives, although very reasonably priced, are by far the best I have ever used. I cook a lot and a sharp knife in the kitchen is the biggest and most important utensil one can have. This set is everything I could wish for, and more. James Martin is a brilliant chef, so in the hope that he has actually agreed to put his name to this product, I purchased them as a gift just for me!!! I cannot rate them highly enough. They chop and slice perfectly and they look absolutely lovely in the kitchen. Well done Judge (the makers of brilliant kitchen products - and they didnt pay me to say that!!!) these knives bear your trade name with pride and thank you James Martin for putting your name to this wonderful product.

Great Service, (Tiny) Warning
I ordered these on Amazon from Ace Kitchen on 'standard' delivery. They arrived in a jiffy bag the following morning. Fantastic, rapid service. One Warning: they arrived in their own individual (retail) packaging and not in any kind of presentation set. The Amazon image with the product seemed to suggest that they would be boxed together. So if you are buying for a gift this may affect your decision... That said, DON'T let it affect your decision! The knives are that good that I wouldn't really care if they had turned up wrapped in newspaper. Great 'grippy' rubberised handles, well balanced and, compared to my Sabatiers, very light. I bought these for my son to use as he is starting to help me do the cooking. The lower weight means that the smaller two of the three knives make perfect "chef's knives" for a 9-year old (well-supervised obviously!).
