Kids who love video games will love this new 5-book series about 12-year old Jesse Rigsby and the wild adventures he encounters getting sucked into different video games. Jesse Rigsby is on a mission to save his friend Mark, but first he's got to shake the Bigfoot chasing him through the school library. And then there's the velociraptor in the bathroom. Oh yeah, and don't forget the ginormous flame-throwing bat in the cafeteria! Jesse's trapped in the invisible world of Go Wild—a Pokemon Go-style mobile game—and if he doesn't solve the mystery of what happened to Mark soon, he's never getting back out. 7 year old and his dad both love it!!
My 7 year old son and I are writing this review together. We read about 2 chapters each night before bed and we loved this book! It follows right after the amazing book #1 and has more of a Pokémon Go storyline that he really seemed to understand. His favorite line is in chapter four, when Jesse says “OKso I was basically Elsa from frozen!” He laughed so hard he fell off the bed! There aren’t many books that are as funny as this one for a kid while also being enjoyable to read as the adult! We’re on to book 3!

A Sasquatch, a velociraptor, and feral Tribbles… Pokemon Go-style
This sequel describes what happened to sixth-grader Jesse, the narrator of the original title to this series, right where that story left off. As before, this is a text novel, seasoned with just a few illustrations. Once again, Jesse has found himself in the eponymous dilemma. Yet I must commend the author for the variation he came up with this time, which pays obvious homage to what was, at one point, a wildly popular augmented-reality game. Three other characters from the prior volume have returned, including one whose fate was left up in the air in Book One, and it was satisfying for me to find Jesse and his companions seeking to resolve that character's predicament. This volume is relatively brief, action-packed (seemingly more so than the first book), suspenseful, funny, and meant to appeal to late-year elementary-school readers. No need for excessive detail or exact logic; I could fill those in for myself whenever I felt the need arise. The aim is to just have fun with the story. While there was no gross-out element as in the original, one scenario involving a credit card no doubt proved awkward for one character -- a bizarrely inventive look at what immersion into virtual reality makes possible. The end turned out to be far more a cliffhanger on this occasion.

Great book, okay value
Great book. Great series. However could offer a better price for a book most kids have read.

Great read aloud for all ages
We loved this series! After book 1, we were hooked! My children’s ages range from 10-4 and they all enjoyed this book. We had to read on at the end of each chapter to find out what happened next. Great books!
