I’ve tried A LOT of neutral palettes, and definitely consider the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics palette to be a staple worth investing in. In fact, when they went on sale during the Black Friday/Holiday season, I got a couple as gifts for some of the emerging makeup enthusiasts in my life! Here’s what I love about it (and some considerations for if you’re trying to decide if it belongs in your makeup bag!) What makes it a yes for me: ✅ The Perfect Cool-Toned Neutrals – Unlike warm-toned palettes that can pull orange, these shades are beautifully taupe-based, making them flattering for a wide range of skin tones. These shades work for both my every day eye for the office and more dramatic but sophisticated smokey looks. ✅ Velvety and Blend-able – The mattes are buttery smooth, non-patchy, and layer like a dream (No chalkiness or fallout issues!) ✅ Foolproof for most Skill Levels – Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, the shade range is versatile yet simple, and totally complementary making it almost impossible to mess up. ✅ Travel, Transition and Day Bag Friendly – With a full range of color in a compact package, this one stays in my travel makeup bag— not just for intermittent touch ups, but as a game changer to easily alter my look if I’m going from the office to happy hour (again, these colors blend and complement each other well! I layer Frisk, Skimp and Undone for my day look, and blend out the skimp with a little more undone for evenings eyes!). It’s also my favorite to travel with when I want to travel in comfort, but need to do a quick eye getting off the plane on business travel. I know some reviews shared that it broke easily, but for me, this palette has been sturdy and no fuss rolling around in my makeup bag (picture attached) A Few Things to Note: ⚠️ If you prefer warm-toned shadows, you might find this palette leans too cool. (If that’s the case, the Naked Basics 1 might be a better fit!) ⚠️ There’s no shimmer or highlight shade, so if you like some glow, you may want to pair it with a separate shimmer. (My splurge that stays in my bag with this palette is Urban Decay moon dust in Lithium) Final Verdict: For me, it’s a staple palette that’s reliable, blendable, and perfect for everyday wear. If you love neutrals with a cool, sophisticated undertone, this is a 5-star must-have!

This is the best neutral eyeshadow palette I’ve used. The consistency, pigmentation, colors, ease of application and blending are superior. In mist palettes, I use two of the colors and end up throwing the remainder out, but I like all of the colors in this one. This is the first eyeshadow I can honestly say does a fantastic job on eyebrows, also. Not only does it fill in well and look natural, it seems to tame and smooth the brows at the same time, and lasts until I take it off with eye makeup remover at the end of the day. It’s interesting that one or two of the colors look much darker than expected when applied, but it doesn’t bother me. The one thing that is a drawback is the value— it is a bit overpriced for this truly mini palette.

I really like this shadow palette. It came in perfect condition nothing was damaged. These colors are nicely pigmented beautiful neutrals for every day wear. I do recommend purchasing the palette. I will be using daily. It has a mirror and it’s small I can take it with me for touch ups that is exactly what I needed.

This is the 3rd time purchasing this palette over the years. The colors are great! It’s the one palette I’ve used that I actually use all the colors.

I love the neutral colors of these eye shadow pallets and have bought the same colors over and over for several years. My suggestion is to buy the directly from a store. I got these online and with it 10 days the little square colors have chipped. I had to completely throw away the darkest crowd at that time, and within three months have threw away to others because they cracked it broke. I’m sure it was caused from the shipping, but with the cost of things today I will always just buy direct from a store.

Great eye liner, colors are excellent!

I hate to leave a bad review because I really like this shadow. The problem is, eventually (and long before it’s gone), the darkest color cracks and slowly breaks up, leaving the case and my hands covered with blackish brown powder. Each time, I end up breaking it up and dumping it in the trash so my hands are not transferring the shadow to my outfit or my face. I don’t know why it is only the darkest color, which I like to use to touch up sparse spots on my eyebrows.
