Cine DS DS85M-C 85mm T1.5 AS IF UMC Full Frame Cine Lens for Canon EF

This was a really great price and great quality, this is the first cine lens I'm getting and it's awesome. its all perfect and looks like it was never used.

Love this lens. Using it on a Blackmagic 6K and it works a treat. The shallow depth of field and low light capabilities are really useful. Keep in mind that it has no electronic contacts so it’s 100% manual. But for my purposes that’s ok since I never use auto anything when shooting video.

Unbelievably good for the price. Honestly if your thinking about getting this then the answer is yes. A few things to udnerstand. Accept that this is NOT an T1.5 lens. Think of it more like T2.0 because that is about as large as you want to go. Once you accept that this is a T2.0 lens for the price its incredible. Ive shot side by side with my Sigma Art 18-35 and at T2.0 this lens beats it out in sharpness. I believe the sigma is about T2.0 so thats why I am comparing the two.

Very good quality cine lens. Stoppless shutter allows for smooth exposure changes even when shooting live video. Also allows for f-stop settings between the standard stop positions. Does NOT interface with the electronics in the camera so camera can not control the f-stop internally. Image quality is excellent. I do not say it is the SAME as Zeiss or L glass, but it is VERY close. Depth of field is very shallow wide open and bokah is quite good. An excellent affordable piece of long, fast, cine glass. Also, there are a whole series of these fast primes from Rokinon that are designed to be color and image matched for interchange on a shoot. That is a nice feature for such an affordable lens system.

I use this lens only for still photography, on a full frame camera (Canon 6D). It shows a list price of $299, but I was able to get it on sale for $195. I don't have thousands to throw at a hobby, so I am always on the lookout for value, and this has become my favorite lens, by far. Keep in mind that it is fully manual - no autofocus - so if you're not comfortable shooting manually and focusing manually, this isn't a good investment for you. But as you can see, if you do shoot manually, you can get some pretty good results, including at fast-paced sports events. I should mention I've shot sports on and off for a few years now, and almost always shoot on manual (hey, when you buy budget lenses, the autofocus also tends to be a little slow, so I make up for that by making all adjustments myself). This lens is also incredible in low light! Check reviews on YouTube and write-ups on other sites for more, but many mention f/2.8 is a sweet spot for clarity and bokeh.

Although heavy, this lens is well built and captures still and video images with pristine quality. Note: there is no auto focus. However, once I achieved the right settings and dialed in my focus the results were amazing! Great lens for a great price.

Excelente objetivo para TODOS los equipos Canon que ACEPTEN montura EF. Al ser un lente de cine NO CUENTA con enfoque automático, TODO ES MANUAL por lo que recomiendo comprar un follow focus.

Compared to what an 85mm costs from Canon, this buy is a no-brainer. Fan of the click-free aperture and the quality of the build of superb. Beautiful photos and video from this puppy. Highly recommend!
