"Users of the Spotmatic, Spotmatic II (SPII), Spotmatic IIa, SP500, and SP1000 will be able to replace their batteries with a 1.5volt Silver-Oxide battery". It a on-line order item. You can also use the 1.5v Energizer 389 and you should be able to buy the 389 at local shops.

I use this battery in a 1970 Bulova Accutron watch but according to google you can use it in your camera as well.
