One of the best Devastator sets out there.
This Devastator set is one of the best you can get without paying $200+. It has more detail than the officially licensed Combiner Wars Devastator, with lots of hidden surprises. The crain/club alone has two hinge joints and an extendable handle. The fingers are fully articulated at each joint. Each constructicon has a blaster that fits into a hollow area for storage while in vehicle mode. While lacking a large blaster for the gestalt Devastator form, this can be easily forgiven because everything else you get is so awesome. Even the box it comes in is covered with awesome artwork, foil, and embossing, making it an excellent shelf display piece. One warning though, some of the smaller joints, like Bonecrusher's (the bulldozer ) foot 'heels' feel very flimsy, as if they're ready to snap off with the lightest touch. This is not a figure for children. It takes a light touch but also some force to transform these figures, sometimes to the point where you think you might break them. But the six individual transformation instructions are easy to understand, and with patience and finesse you should have no trouble with this set. And as a bonus, there's a lot of detail to paint and panel lines to ink if you're into customizing your transformers. Highly recommend for the adult collector. This Devastator set makes the bigger-than-life toy that only exists in your childhood nostalgia a reality.

Amazing model/toy - very complex!
Scale: This toy is modeled on large construction vehicles that turn into individual robots or one giant robot. It should be bigger than automobile-robots of a similar scale, and it is! For collectors seeking a giant robot that is comparatively huge, this is a monster! (The top of the head is over 15 inches). It towers over comparable toys and really stands out in a collection. Complex: This is not a toy for small children. Even long-time fans of robots that convert into vehicles will have a hard time with this item, even though the direction booklets are included and they are generally pretty clear. Changing each vehicle to a robot is a time-consuming challenge, but the reward is so worth it! Detail: These characters look really good. Toys based on cartoons like these may never have looked so good! The construction vehicles have nifty proportions and are posable. The robot forms are likewise very posable, detailed, and authentically look cool - action figures! Some of the parts are made of translucent orange plastic, meaning backlighting can make the eyes seem to glow! The giant robot form has very well-articulated hands and there is an LED inside the head that lets the eyes glow red! Everyone in our home who saw the glowing eyes was thrilled. Fragile??? There are many very small tabs and fittings on these guys. After turning the toys from construction equipment, to robots, and back, and then into the giant robot, nothing broke. Phew! There were several movements that seemed to stress key joints some movements in the process really created fear that the plastic would break. Since most collectors will just have the giant robot on display, it should last a long time (and it is more stable and posable than many similar toys) - but this set has such impressive sculpting that it really seems a shame to leave some of the other forms neglected. Summary - Not just satisfied, but thrilled and amazed. This is a really complicated and potentially fragile model/toy, but it really dazzles and the price was far better than anything from comparable toy makers.

This is not a bad figure, just be aware what you are buying.
I have owned these 3rd party figures before, including this one. It’s not as tall as the Combiner Wars version, but taller and heftier than the SS 86 version currently being released. The plastic is ok, but DO NOT put too much pressure on it, it will absolutely break. The Devastator head broke on mine because I couldn’t see how to move it. The plastic is not as forgiving as Hasbro’s. If you are having to force a piece to move you are probably not doing it right and you WILL break it. I was able to patch mine up, so it’s not a big deal, but just be warned. If you are buying this for your kid who just loves to play Transformers, it will break quicker than it takes to remove it from the box. This is not a toy for children. With that out of the way, it’s an impressive piece for what it is, and looks great. It scales well with the CHUG figures, and the combined form looks great. The individual bots are nicely designed as well. I am debating buying a second set to display in combined form and individually.

A high quality rendition of a classic character!
I have been wanting a Devastator action figure for a while now and I am satisfied with this high quality third party iteration of him: Pros: - Finely detailed - The transformation process is complex but not so much given the amount of small pieces - Eyes light up - very articulated given the complexity - very reasonable price for what you get - looks fantastic! Cons: - parts can feel fragile. One must take care when transforming and posing - some joints feel a bit loose and can’t hold all poses - personal preference: wish he came with his classic blaster instead of the crane/club weapon Overall I highly recommend for adult collectors!

Definitely NOT a toy and very fragile
I was going to give this a higher rating, but the more I thought about it I decided that the Cons outweight the nostalgia factor. The details on this Devastator are great, BUT being all plastic, it is very delicate and very easy to pop pieces out while trying to transform. Along with pieces popping out, there were some moments where I was worried that I would break a joint or a piece off because some joints were extremely stiff and tight. I advise using a strong plastic tool to help with separation and prying of parts and joints, metal tools will likely damage something. Once you assemble Devastator he looks imposing as he should, the poseability of the figure is alright given its massive size, but the joints cannot sustain any elaborate poses due to the sheer weight of the limbs especially if you have the weapon in hand. He also has a hard time just standing up unless you have everything completely lined up with weight distributed evenly enough that he won't fall over or backwards. Like I said, I wanted to give this a higher rating, but due to how fragile this is as a whole, I can't give it more than 3 stars especially taking into account the cost of this item. WARNING: DO NOT GIVE THIS TO A CHILD AS A TOY, IT WILL NOT LAST MORE THAN A FEW MINUTES IN THE HANDS OF A CHILD. THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY A COLLECTORS ITEM.

Stunning details
I absolutely love this set, definitely worth the money. I will recommend to other CHUG collectors; however, I DO NOT recommend for children at all. The transformation sequences are indeed very complicated and it does take patience as there are a few weak spots that could be easily snapped. I did get a bum elbow on one of the bots, however I have an official Hasbro Springer who couldn't stand on day one (stripped knee). I also enjoy the full color instructions plus the little thank you note. I have provided pictures for collectors to judge scale by. The scale models are: combiner wars legends Bumblebee, war for cybertron deluxe Prowl, power of the primes voyager Starscream (battlemaster version aka center combiner unit), both of my leader class Soundwaves (combiner wars and bumblebee), and my combiner wars Superion. Each bot of this set is about midway of voyager and leader class size. I looked everywhere for this kind of information whilst waiting for Devastator (came in 17 days) but no one else gave clear reference to size, so here ya go to anyone else who wants this information. Also, not only does Devastator's visor light up, but Mixmaster's drum rattles as you spin it (inner 5yo is very happy lol). So don't be alarmed if you hear that if your shipping box is damaged, my bots were very well wrapped. Works well as Devastator or just the Constructicons.

Absolutely Awesome!
Simply put, absolutely awesome! The only weak point is Bonecrusher’s legs, the hip is extremely weak and one broke. Fix easy enough. Took downstairs to my man cave, drilled a small hole into the joints with my Dremel and inserted a small brass rod that instantly fixed the problem. Transformation into robot and Devastator are both easy and not many steps, just really fidgety the first time until you figure out where goes what. And speaking of Devie himself, he is HUGE, this is good and bad. Good cause he is big and really attract attention. Bad cause he’s heavy and can be wobbly if not posed right. Overall, worth it cause this thing is worth every penny. My youngest love it. But he mostly like them in vehicle mode so he can crush his Hot Wheels. Wait till he’s older and realize Devastator can really crush some cars!

Extreme difficulty in putting together and fragile parts.
Putting together is to difficult and not very fun even for adults. If you want all robots cool, but a pain to transform. Complete painful and upsetting purchase even when watching videos to put it together. No fun for this family and our neighbors.
