These are top rated for sensitivity to all types of fires by Which magazine, beating the competition, mainly Aico, even though Aico are several times the cost. The downside with FireAngel is false alarms which are widely reported. Industry people prefers Aico as they dont want hassle. My plan is to buy several extra FireAngels, and immediately bin and replace any that give a false alarm, no second chances, and by Darwinism achieve a reliable system. The included battery is useless, bin and replace with Duracell 9V MN1604.Update: bought 10, of these two failed withing 12 months. One due to excessive battery consumption, the other just started alarming for no reason.

I bought these on recommendation and reviews. They are a great size at a great price and hopefully we’ll do the job. Fitted easily and up and running. Luckily not had to use them for Real so I can’t comment whether they will save peoples lives. So far so good highly recommend recommended

Easy instal and effective alarm noise.

Have a few of these in the house already and one of them kept false triggering. Decided after battery swaps etc to bin it and replaced with this like for like especially as these costs almost nothing and one wants the peace of mind safety. No problems sinceAs was like for like use the same mount so took 20 seconds to fit. Test every now and then and no false alarms

Very quick and easy to put on ceiling and are nice and loud when you test them.

Working properly

I should learn to read all the reviews already posted, not just the gushing five star ones. If I had I would have found a post from someone with the same problem I had, the fixing plate. I have other alarms in the house with a fixing plate and the actual alarm fits into it in a twising motion, but this plate is very flimsy. It may be better on completely flat surfaces but on a textured ceiling it did not fit well and the catches on the alarm were also very flimsy. I would expect it would break by the time I changed the battery twice. I did install it but then just felt it would soon fall off the ceiling the catches were so poor. I also did not like the regular light flicker and slight beep it made. Would drive someone mad if in the same room. I decided to send them back and get a sturdier alarm. Price is not everything when you need an alarm you can rely on.
