Very good
Authentic taste and very convenient!โ"This curry paste is amazing. It has a very rich and authentic flavor, just like home. It saves me so much time in the kitchen and the aroma of the fresh herbs is wonderful. My family loved the meal I made with this. Highly recommend for anyone looking for real Thai flavor!"

Tastes great
The best pre-made panang curry paste Iโve had! Makes quick meals taste like lots of hours and effort went into its preparation. Definitely worth the price!

Restaurant quality Panang curry
Truly excellent Panang curry paste. It lacks peanut, because of potential issues with allergies, so you can add or not to your dish. This package is enough for perhaps 6-8 meals for 4 people and the resulting curry is easily as good as Iโve had at restaurants in the USA. On a Thai scale of 1-10 for heat, it ends up around a 4 if used as directed by a real Thai recipe. Thatโs likely a US 6 for heat. I added extra galangal slices, to my taste. You may not want to. I highly recommend this brand in general and the Panang in particular.

Tastes great, could use a bit more spice
I don't have any experience with other Panang curry pastes, but this pretty close to what I was getting from a local restaurant before I decided to try making it myself. It's not quite as spicy as I'd like, so I've been adding some chili blends to the oil (my recipe calls for sauteing onions/garlic/ginger for two minutes at the start) to give it a bit more heat. Came well packaged and sealed (the other curry paste I bought showed up looking like someone used it for a soccer ball), and the last one I bought stayed good in the fridge for about a month and a half. I've heard people say they freeze it in the portions their recipe calls for to keep it fresh for later use, but mine didn't last that long.

Excellent Curry Pasts
If you love curry this brand is outstanding. I always buy the largest container because it lasts easily the entire year in my refrigerator. I use the Panang & Red curry flavors. I noticed some reviews mentioned the inside packaging. I never found it to be difficult to open or close. When I first get it, loosen up the contents then I take my kitchen shears & cut off the top. I reseal the container by folding over the opening then use a thick rubber band all around the plastic container, top to bottom so itโs sealed tight. Itโs never dried out on me. To prep the paste, I just take a couple of tablespoons of oil in my pan & sautรฉ on medium heat with 3 to 4 level tablespoons of paste, for spicy hot curry, than break it down nice & smooth. Use 2 tablespoons if youโre worried about the heat. After itโs smoothed out I add (this is important) one can of unsweetened Coconut Cream and not unsweetened Coconut Milk. Coconut milk has very little authentic flavor but Coconut Cream will give you that depth of flavor youโre missing in curry dishes. I learn this decades ago from my Thai & Indian Chef friends. Add your usual ingredients & additions next with these added tips & enjoy! Thanks to this excellent & reliable seller. All my curry recipes turn out Thai restaurant quality. My friends $ family agree. Enjoy!

Purchased Dec 2024 - expires 2026 - great!
I like that this Dec 2024 purchase of Panang Curry Paste arrived with a June 2026 expiration date. That was a relief, since some reviews pointed out a much too soon expiration date on a new purchase. EDIT after using: (I found that the spice level is not as high as it was a few years ago. Maybe it's just the batch I received that is not as spicy, but the flavor is still great.) I've used this product for several years and find it is the very best way to make fast Thai dishes that taste like they came from a restaurant. Turn your rotisserie chicken leftovers into a curry or soup! It's spicy, so use sparingly and add to taste, knowing coconut milk tames the heat. Cooking tip to replace lemongrass in recipes is to substitute lemon and lime zest, and use some lemon and lime juice in the recipe, to taste. It's really worth the effort to uses fresh ginger since it takes any recipe to the next level.

Wonderful change from Thai Yellow Curry
I love Thai food, but had never tried the Panang curry. It is delicious. After reading the reviews, I just had to try it. It actually is not as spicy as I thought it would be. The first time I used it I measured less of it than the directions called for and it was kind of bland. However, next time I will try the full amount. Mae Ploy really makes Thai cooking easy. A few months down the road and this has become my favorite food. I don't use coconut milk, because the thick canned kind at the grocery store leaves an aftertaste and makes me burp. Instead, I use about 3/4 chicken broth for the liquid and it comes out just perfect. My favorite way to use this is with Swai or similar fish fillets cut into bite sized pieces. I stir fry whatever veggies I have on hand (red or green bell pepper, onion, shredded carrots, etc) and then remove them from the pan. Next I fry the Thai Red Curry paste (I have found that 2 T. is perfect for me. Spicy but not too hot) then I pour in the broth and let it sizzle for about a minute. Next I add the fish and veggies and let it all simmer for about 10 minutes. I serve it over rice or Thai noodles and it is heavenly. Not only does it taste wonderful, but the aroma lingers in my house for a day or two and smells delicious. I'm so glad I found this. I've stored it in the coldest part of my refrigerator and it has lasted several months with no sign of deterioration. I use it about once a week. I'll soon be ordering more, because I'm hooked.

Very nice curry paste, great for quick and easy dishes.
Very nice curry paste.. I did however make the mistake of not measuring properly as using a bit much paste the same as I did with the red curry if the same brand. If you've not really used these curry tastes before then I'd definitely say less can sometimes be more. If you want to enjoy the flavours and the coconut milk/veg/meat flavours then go on the lighter side of maybe 2 level tablespoons per can of coconut milk or if you want to be brave and get a kick from the chilli then I done 2 overly heaped tablespoons for one can if coconut milk the first time. It's very nice but also very easy to get carried away. Once you get the right amount for your tastes then this is a very nice curry paste. I will be trying the green curry and probably the tom yum next. Quick, easy and very enjoyable.

Excellent curry paste
Excellent curry sauce, rich and flavourful. Better than the Thai brand I used to buy in grocery stores, and much greater volume per dollar spent

Too salty
Too salty, unbearable, have to throw it. Not good for your health. Don't buy.

Best tasting Panang curry paste
Best tasting Penang curry paste with all natural, clean ingredients, no oils. I just add to coconut milk and a scoop of all natural peanut butter, dark soy, add my vegs and protein, then over rice or noodles, delicious! Much better than restaurant or takeout.
