Works as it should even with cast iron skillet

Never heated up hot enough to even boil a small 2 quart pot of water. Literally stood and watched it for 10+ minutes and the water got nowhere near a boiling point. If this truly is a 1000 W unit, it should definitely boil water.

Works really good

This deserves 3.5 stars but I don’t have that option. THE GOOD: The item is compact and easy to travel with, does what it says it will do, has a sleek, aesthetically-pleasing design, easy to clean, reasonably durable, and has a good amount of length on the cord. Pretty quick cool-down. Perfect for camping with a portable source of electricity that can handle the plug size and energy consumption. Used for a makeshift mini-kitchen while renovating and it served its purpose. THE LESS GOOD: My only real complaint is that it takes a fair amount of time to heat. Notably longer than a standard gas or electric burner on a stovetop. Once it gets there- you’re golden. So if you need something for a small space that will fit in a tote bag but heat a full saucepan and don’t mind waiting a few minutes more for your meal, it’s great!

Works well, turns off if you turn the dial all the way low on the side with the dots. It does take some time to get the pan hot maybe 5-10 minutes and takes about that long to make water boil. The top is like cast iron, don't leave any water on it or it'll rust and don't clean it with water. If you end up getting rust on it just pour some coca cola and take a brush to scrub that off the pat dry with a towel.
