Pricey, but worth it!
After reading lots of reviews on various brands of chalk paint, milk paint, etc., I chose this paint in antique white. I refinished a dresser and chest. I did end up using a primer because the original stain kept coming through. However, after doing that, this went on great. First, the directions say to use foam brushes and rollers. They are super cheap and make clean up a breeze because you just toss them. Second, this paint levels itself out. No weird brush strokes, just a nice finish. Third, the color is perfect. If you look at it, you'd assume it's white. It's not a stark white, but it also doesn't have that yellow to it that an off-white would have. Fourth, it's easy to use. I've never really redone a piece of furniture and been that successful, so if I be successful with this, anyone can. Especially now knowing that a quick coat of primer, two coats of paint, and a top satin coat is all it takes, I think the process would be even easier and faster. We purchased the Java stain to do the tops of each piece and the satin top coat. To be honest, both pieces turned out so well that I impressed myself. Lol! I've gotten a lot of compliments on both pieces because they don't look like something that I redid myself, the finish is so nice and even that they look like they were purchased that way. I recently redid another dresser in the snow white. It turned out fine, but the color didn't seem to be as great of a product as the antique white.

BEST PAINT EVER!
This paint is amazing! I'm an artist/painter with over 20 years of experience using multiple types of paint, and hands down General Finishes Milk Paint has become my go to paint for furniture and cabinetry! It has the ease of use properties of traditional milk paint(little to no surface prep, superior paint leveling, goes on easily), but with the smooth, hard finish of a more durable alkyd paint. The antique white is a beautiful creamy tone(appears slightly more yellow during application but dries to a perfect creamy white!). To achieve the right finish and color consistency, it does take take 3 light coats for me with foam roller/brush combo(on lighter surfaces, but 4 coats usually on darker surfaces), but the ease of applying it and quick dry time makes it so worth it! It has the most beautiful, barely there sheen when it dries to it's beautiful hard finish! Topped with General Finishes Top coat, it is a durable, hard wearing finish for cabinetry and other pieces that are frequently used. I recently also used it on a brass chandelier to give it a farmhouse finish(i did prime the metal first), as a wash over a tumbled marble backsplash and also on a painted brick floor update, all with the same amazing results! Try this paint...follow the directions for application, and you will fall in love as I have!

First In It’s Class
Best Furniture Paint Ever!!! I have been a GF user for over 20+ years. Nothing like it. Great for those who are intimidated by painting, first timers, etc. Gives a Flawless finish without brush strokes! I highly recommend this paint. You will never use anything else. Their sealers and top coats are Excellent as well. I used their waterproof top coat for a dining table top and it’s been on 16 years and still Great!!!

Looks beautiful!
LOVE THIS PAINT! I am re-doing my kitchen cabinets and I am not done yet but what I have finished looks amazing. The paint color and quality is very nice, it looks professional and I have never done this before. I saw this product used by a you-tuber on how to paint kitchen cabinets and I am happy with the result. You definitely want a high quality paint when painting kitchen cabinets due to the high wear and tear of kitchen cabinets and this has withstood my sticky handed toddler and my baby banging into cabinets with his walker for months! Must use the general finishes top coat with it however! I also used : 1.easy liquid sander deglosser first 2. Kilz premium high hide stain blocker primer (my cabinets needed 2 coats) (you need enough to hide original wood) 3. This general finishes milk paint (2 coats) 4. General finishes top coat (3 coats - but your preference on how many coats) - this stuff goes on fast and is easy .

Easy to use with nice results
This milk paint sticks better than most low VOC paint. If you have older woodwork and you don’t want to spend tons of time scrubbing and sanding to prep this is a good paint to try. Oils, waxes, smoke, cooking grease droplets in the air, will do strange things to paint (I’ve learned the hard way) but this paint goes on beautifully with minimal brush marks. It sands easily and still has a nice finish after sanding with a fine grit paper. I’ve noticed that although this paint doesn’t require a topcoat and has a nice matte sheen after 3 coats, on areas that get more frequent use applying General Finishes High Performance TopCoat over the final coat does prevent chipping. The photos posted of a dresser painted 5 years ago. With heavy daily use the areas with no HPTC have chipped and scratched but the top with 3 coats of HPTC looks great (and no yellowing!). I used a SATIN HPTC by General Finishes which gave the top too much shine, but there’s a HPTC in flat now so I plan to repaint the entire chest and topcoat it.

You can’t go wrong with purchasing this product. My first time using. Love the coverage after 2 coats. Easy clean up. It’s thick & goes on so well leaving no brush marks! Just don’t shake the can!! Get a stir stick
