I read through the reviews before purchasing, and knew about the quality concerns with the alligator clips ahead of time. I ordered one for my Dad's 2001 Toyota Avalon back in really December, which was parked in his driveway in Delaware and barely used due to medical issues and having a newer vehicle available... but he wanted me to start it once in a while to keep the battery charged while he was in the hospital for an extended stay. The cold temps were depleting the battery, and this was just enough to keep it topped off on charge so that it didn't need a jump start. I liked it so much that I ordered a 2nd one for my 95 Grand Cherokee back home in Arizona, which wasn't being used at all while I was in Delaware helping my sister care for my parents and keeping up with their house. When I went to install the 2nd one on the ZJ, the battery terminal on the red top Optima battery was a bit bigger than the Avalon's regular battery and the alligator clip broke when trying to get it on the positive terminal. I knew when I was doing it that trying to get it on the larger terminal and squeezing the clip would stress the plastic and spring, but I did it anyways... and it broke in half. I tried to put it back together, but that obviously wasn't working - so I reached out to the company and explained what happened offering to purchase a new set of connectors. Their Customer Service was stellar, and in top of the immediate apology for my dilemma they sent out a replacement set of connectors which were received that same week. Amazing response time & quick shipment of the replacement negated any complaint that I had with the product - and installing the new alligator clips on the ZJ this time with a bit more delicacy and finesse so as to not over flex the spring or stress the plastic on the larger terminal. I returned back to Delaware after being gone for 5 weeks. The original unit was still with the green light, parked facing to the sun attached to the outside of the windshield - which it had direct sunlight from about 9am to 4pm daily. The old Avalon fired right up like the battery was brand new! I spent a month in Delaware, and after getting back to Arizona I tested the ZJ - also parked facing the sun with the solar charger attached to the outsiden of the windshield and getting direct sunlight from 7am to 5pm. The 5.2 liter V8 fired right up with no lag like it was still being driven daily. I'm happy with the product quality and performance, and highly recommend it for anyone who has a secondary vehicle that doesn't get a lot of use to avoid the frustration of discharge and having to jump start.

I’ve been using this solar setup on my motorhome for a year now on the engine battery, Midwest winter was brutal and this solar battery maintainer kept the 12 volt battery up to charge. I go out and start it and let it run once every 7 days and this unit has done a great job.

This solar panel charger works great. My car’s alarm system is draining the battery so I bought this solar charger. I use the car once a week and it barely starts or the battery is low so this keeps it charged. The true test was the last two weeks, I was out of town and came back and it started right up. I clamp it onto the battery clamps that are on the posts and thread the wires to the charger through the hood near the windshield wipers and where the door closes. I put the panel on the dash which gets partial sun all day. I disconnect the clamps from the battery before starting and it started right up. Installing is easy. If you have a “live” cigarette lighter when the engine is off, then you can plug it into the lighter aka usb plug in.

I bought this to put on my 4 wheeler just to make sure the battery stayed up. But instead put it on a tractor. It worked great, it hadn't run for a couple months and it fired right up. I like the size and how well it worked, I ordered 5 more. The only thing that could make this better is a pigtail that bolts on to the battery also.

I found out my new Maverick hybrid uses all kinds of power when I'm not driving it. Although, I think this issue probably pertains to most newer vehicles. Wifi, remote starting, 24hr dashcams, app monitoring, etc. They keep going via the 12v starting battery. Kills it in days. I started jump starting my truck before I even had 200 miles on it. You can shut those battery killer options down in settings, but I actually want most of the 24hr monitoring... Or get this... I want having enough battery to use the AC! I frequently go days without driving, or even drive far enough to recharge the battery between starts. I don't want to run an extension cord to use a battery maintainer, so solar seems to be the best solution. It One more hiccup. I want to use it daily, at home. And alligator clips are a pain. I want easy. Plug in. I found out my cig lighter socket is not connected to the battery when the key is turned off. So I bought a cig lighter socket on Amazon that wires directly to the battery. It's fused too. This should've come with one, actually. Bonus... my battery is under the back seat so forget the firewall. All wiring remains in the cab. When I get home, I lay the solar panel on my tonneau cover. Before I drive away, I just throw it in the back seat. Works great. I'm buying another for my suv.

I have a small trailer that I use periodically. This trailer has the required trailer breakaway system with a rechargeable battery. Doesn't work on my Tahoe. Solar panel has been sitting on my dashboard in the sun for weeks. I have it plugged into the cigarette lighter--which does receive power w/o key-on. Dead battery this morning. Updating review. The 7.5Watt model did not provide enough power to keep my Tahoe charged. Which I don't fully understand as an old vehicle shouldn't have an excessive power draw at rest. I'm changing the stars for my review because of POWOXI's exceptional customer service. I received immediate attention solely because of my poor review of the product. We exchanged messages back and forth for a few days describing my issue, my results/images of the tests I ran, etc. (0.162 amps @ 17.29 Volts). POWOXI agreed that the 7.5 Watt model should have sufficed for my vehicle but suggested a higher watt model and offered me a full refund of the 7.5 watt--even even outside the 30 day amazon return policy. I just purchased a higher watt model from them.

Works great, using for my ride on mower, keeps the battery charged. But cord could be a bit longer. I wouldn't rely on the suction cup too much better to use screws

ホンダ ステップワゴン rp3の充電用に買いました。エンジン停止後、20分経つとヒューズボックスの常時電源も切れる仕様なので、ヒューズボックスからの電源確保は諦めました。バイク用の配線を別に買って、バッテリーへの直接配線を車内まで引き込みました。接続はSAE端子なので、意外とバイク用を探すと部品があります。あまり乗らない平日にダッシュボードに置いて充電してます。映り込みが気になる時は外して付属の袋へ、面倒くさい時は付けるぱなしで走行してます。 ソーラーパネルは、日の出すぐの弱い光でも緑ランプが光っているので充電はしている様です。電圧は14.2VあったのでMAXで0.5A発電するのでしょう。
