Vanicream Shampoo, Helps Remove Oil, Flaking and Build-Up, 12 Fl Oz

It's a medicated shampoo; it doesn't feel irritating and doesn't have an overpowering scent. I liked it; overall, it's a good option for hair prone to flaking.

I was having itchy scalp issues due to menopause. No matter what I used or didn't use.....nothing was working for me. So I gave this a try. And it works! At first I didn't like it because I have 2B hair: naturally dry and wavy. I do not use any hair products other than shampoo and conditioner, plus I air dry my hair. The first time I used this my hair felt like straw. I did learn that I can not use this daily due to my hair type. But what I change in my routine was this: I wash (and condition) my hair twice a week: Sunday and Thursday. And while I am still not used to the straw feeling, once I add the conditioner my hair feels so much better. So no more itchy scalp, and no extra hair shedding. I do buy the Conditioner to go with it. For me, the two together work great. But for some of you.......it will definitely be too harsh to use daily the same way as it was for me.

Ive struggled with thick scale like dandruff, irritated and itchy scalp..even after shower id scratch and be dealing with dander and irritation, ive picked at my scalp all my life..and I use this once and I was letting my hair air dry as I cleaned and..oh goodness its already made a huge difference. No dandruff, no itchiness, I didnt scratch once and my hair feels nice! Im amazed and nearly want to cry. Im 27 and never once had my scalp feel so clear and clean? Never felt like this and its so freeing..so refreshing and im going to stock up on this next paycheck so ill never run out.

Very good for skin

The only brand we use on our kiddos very sensitive eczema prone skin. Recommended to us by the head of Dermatology at our medical group. Scent free, not harsh on skin or hair. Good lather, no residue left after.

I really like this shampoo! It cleans my scalp and hair really well without leaving it feeling stripped or overly dry. It does a great job removing oil and buildup, and my scalp feels much cleaner and fresher afterward. I also appreciate the simple formula, especially when my scalp is feeling sensitive or irritated. It rinses out easily and leaves my hair feeling soft and manageable. Definitely a great option for a gentle everyday shampoo!

I absolutely love that this doesn't irritate my scalp like 90% of shampoos seem to do for me right now, but unfortunately it does strip color-treated hair after a couple weeks/several washes. It may be the sodium hydroxide or sodium chloride, which from what I read are two ingredients that can do that. So, sulfate-free, but I would not say it's color-safe. However, the main purpose for people with sensitive scalps should be 4-5 stars, as I've gotten relief when I use this shampoo. I know it's not fragrances per se that bother me, because I have one fragranced one I can use too, so the other components must be non-irritating. I think using this continuously may cause some dry strands through and it cleanses well but maybe doesn't condition the scalp/strands like other shampoos with their many ingredients.

This shampoo cleans very well. It doesn't take much to get the job done, and the bottle lasts a decent amount of time. I will say the spout area can get clogged up a bit, so make sure to rinse it off when done using it. The smell is very mild and pleasant.

Love that fact that it is more natural and not harsh on my scalp, but it leaves my hair quite dry and matted (I have dry hair anyway) so just a warning there.

The shampoo has no moisture ingredients, so it makes your hair break easily. It’s the weirdest texture I’ve ever felt after shampoing my hair. The conditioner helps but the last time used it, a huge clump of hair fell down my leg. I was devastated. It also doesn’t feel like it fully washes your hair, so my scalp started to get more & more itchy. I switched to Kurel shampoo & conditioner which seems to be working fine. Thank goodness my hair loss has gone back to normal. Despite the stress this has caused, the seller said I could return it. Hope this review helps people avoid the same mistake.
