These work great. I have a camp stove that takes these and I love not having to throw away the canisters. I know some people refill those but they aren't designed that way. These Flame King ones are certified as refillable and I've filled them up a couple of times now. I love this specific tank so much that I bought 3 of them. I've started using these with my weed killing flame torch and it works fantastic! These fit perfectly for any application requiring the small propane tanks. I love that they come with a safety screw cap top. Makes it so much easier to carry too because you can just use your finger to carry from the screwed in lid. Overall, these are a great deal and I might buy even more. Never getting the disposable ones again.

I am very impressed with this little propane tank! One tank lasted us 3 full days of cooking. We made meals and even boiled water for tea, and there is still propane left in it! It’s very convenient, easy to use, and perfect for camping or everything outdoor cooking

Updated review: I bought this tank as a spare to go along with the refill setup that includes a tank. When I tried to fill this tank, I was not able to get it to take propane. I assumed it was a defective tank, and reached out to Flame King for guidance. They replied within a couple of days and asked me to check the refill adapter to see if there was a blue plastic sleeve and o-ring on the center stem. Sure enough, there was and once I removed those, this spare tank connected properly and I was able to refill it without issues. Turns out, the tank cylinders have this blue plastic sleeve insert with an o-ring at the base. These will sometimes come off - I assume due to built up gas pressure. Slide them off of the refill adapter, drop the o-ring on top of the tank valve opening, and press the o-ring down into the opening with the blue plastic sleeve until it is flush with the valve. Easy-peasy! I added a couple of photos to show what I’m talking about. All-in-all, these tanks are great and kudos to Flame King for their quick assistance!

Purchased this to compliment my camping stuff. I was tired of throwing away the disposables, always wondering if I had enough left in the tank for a weekend. I thought this was the perfect answer to my problem! Well, I was excited to receive my new tank and fill valve. Of course the 1st thing I did was fill it up! Not knowing exactly how much was in my 20lb tank, I only filled it part way up. This turned out to be a good thing for me. My 1st tank didn't sit flat on a table. The convex end of the tank was protruding beyond the base ring. I was afraid this was going to cause a lantern to wobble over on its side. Fire hazard! The other issues I experienced with this tank was the seal for the tool. When I attached this to a tool, (Lantern, BBQ etc) and removed it, the seals stuck, pulling out of the tank. I contacted Flame King regarding this issue and they immediately asked for my shipping address. Sent me a new tank that I received in a couple of days. Asked me to responsibly dispose of the faulty tank. I docked a few stars for the original faulty tank, gave 2 back for the great service. I will purchase another tank soon, One of the slender ones for use with a torch so I can save there as well!

These actually work! I had a fill adapter that I bought to refill Coleman type store bought tanks. That didn’t work. You need to have a bleeder valve. The Flame King bottles fill easily, since they have a bleeder valve. They will use any LP to Camper bottle adaptor. This will easily pay for itself after a couple of refills. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love the concept of refillable 1 pound propane tanks do not get me wrong. In fact, I have bought almost ten of these 1 lb tanks so that I would never have to use a disposable 1 pounder ever again. Tremendous waste and they can't even be recycled because it's "too expensive". All that steel going to waste in some landfill.. Just the thought alone makes me sick. As someone who uses quite a bit of propane regularly, I was very relieved and happy to discover this product. I was in love with this product until I had not one, but two tanks fail rather catastrophically on me within a week of eachother. They were almost brand new too, not more than a month old. After refilling them when disconnecting the tanks from the 20 pound tank as I was unscrewing the 1 pound tanks the same thing happened both times: the entire contents of the tank escaped when the valves failed. ALWAYS REFILL PROPANE TANKS OUTSIDE. The parts get absolutely freezing cold during the gas transfer due to the physics involved which is why you wear gloves when doing the refill, and if I hadn't been wearing gloves I am sure I would have done serious injury to myself by frostbite. As I unscrewed the 1 pound tanks, a couple rotations in and freezing liquid propane began spraying out everywhere. Reacting quickly I shut off the 20lb tank and brought the tank out to the middle of my driveway and set it down a safe distance away from where I had been doing the refill. The entire time propane shooting out the top like a geyser. I knew it was not coming through the bleeder valve because the gas was escaping far too quickly and was shooting straight up which isn't the direction it sprays when exiting the bleeder valve, which is designed to shoot gas out to the side... I then found the reason why it was escaping so violently when I inspected the refill adapter still on the 20 pound tank but the valve on the leaking tank was frozen to the adapter... That's right, the valve from the refillable tank was stuck to the refill adapter which was still screwed in to the 20 pound tank. I don't know if it stuck to the adapter because it was like 30 degrees outside already + the tanks always get super cold during refills as the gas flows from tank A to tank B, or if it was my use of a standard propane refill adapter instead of using the expensive Flame King brand refill adapter, (which costs $50 vs. the $8 ones commonly used that one can purchase at Walmart or on Amazon/eBay), all I know for sure is that these experiences have left me wary of these particular refillable propane tanks. Bear in mind also that I had filled these tanks dozens of times the exact same way with the exact same refill adapter without ANY problems. So I'm definitely going to look in to another brand of refillable tank. Edit : June 21 2019 had another tank fail on me, leaks propane when I unscrew the torch or whatever’s attached to it, it remains leaking fuel until something else is connected all the way but as soon as the seal on the threads loosened propane emerges from the bottle. It’s nothing like Aladdin’s genie coming out of the lamp, its a liability and now I’m having serious doubts about whether or not the remaining 3 good tanks I have are going to fail too. My faith in this product is has taken a downward dive and I keep wondering how long I can use the positive environmental impact as an reason to keep using a product that has such serious safety flaws. Around a 50% fail rate out of the half dozen to dozen of these or so I have bought.

These are absolutely needed if you use this size propane tank at all. They fill completely very easily, and with the set screw opening on them you will know when they are full. Heavy made and should last a lifetime. I just bought 3 more again. I can fill one for about $1. Or….I can buy a throw away bottle for about $5 each at Walmart. I’ve had no problems or rust on these after using them many times for a year. I should have bought these years ago. Worth the money.
