I use it to cut 1/8" carbon Steel plate it cuts very well but you need to wear safety glasses and a face shield the metal that fly during cutting is very hot it will stick to light weight shirts. I put a heavy duty rain coat on plus gloves.All that said the saw makes good cuts

Great saw! Used it to cut 1/4 inch plate. It made a smooth cut with no burrs and few sparks.

Ultimatly, I will keep it as I love the versatility of my other Evolution saws. However, i do feel it is underpowered. It did bog down cutting an old piece of wood at full depth. Ok, it was full depth, but it was also medium density wood. How will it behave with metal?

I’m super impressed with this saw! What a great tool for the money. It has a light too, which I didn’t know until I plugged it in. The dust collection is pretty good too.

Even though this saw gets displayed when you perform an Amazon search on the phrase “Evolution track saw”, it is, in fact, not a track saw and is not compatible with the Evolution track saw tracks. I should have searched reviews for the word “track” before making a purchase, as there already is one review out there that states it is not a track saw. Evolution should also make that point clear in the item description. Sadly, I now have to return this item.

Cuts plate like hot knife through butter only used it on some 10gauge so far and nice clean cuts throws a lot of chips so wear PPE

I was using a dewalt worm drive... but this saw is so much better i have to say it is a better saw... the biggest difference is the evolution saw doesn't have a rough start or torq in your hand when u pull the trigger to start it .im so glad I got this saw
