Can purple pvc primer be used when joining this to white pvc ?

look for either regular PVC glue or ABS to PVC glue at HD type store

Will this no hub connect to cast iron ?

I think it is designed for pvc drain pipe.

Says the material is upvc, is that compatible with sch40 pvc drain pipes? is regular pvc solvent cement going to work on upvc?

Yes, clean, prime and your good to go. Hooks right up to standard 2" shower trap.

Does this allow Neodrain linear drains to work with a Schluter linear drain shower tray ?

My plumber was not able to figure it out, so I wound up buying a different drain entirely
