Great all around
I love these for what they doโless consumable costs means I can buy fancier coffee. Iโve been using it for quite a while, banging on the sides daily to get the stuck coffee out of the filter and itโs held up an absolute treatโฆthe filter that gave out on me did last me a good eight years, but I hope for the same from this guy. My only caveat for people who are making the switch from paper filters is that, depending on your grind, may allow a minimal amount of scum to form in the last dregs of your coffee. For me, I donโt mind it at allโฆI usually like to leave the last sip in the cup anyway so it doesnโt dry to the bottom of the cup. The scum texture is drinkable, but it gets stuck in my throat. Great filter though!

Good product but...
The coffee filter is the perfect for my coffee pot. It fits great and is replacing the one that came with my pot that somehow got lost. I'll have to send this one back because it came bent because it was shipped in an extremely too large Amazon box and it either got seriously banged around or somehow was squashed before it shipped out because there was nothing wrong with the outside shipping box I will have to return it for one that isn't dented and smashed.

I love it, but some won't.
Pros: - Reusable. It's not that I care about the environment, I just hate buying filters to throw out. - Longevity. I've used these things before, and Cuisinart versions always seem to outlast the knock off versions...although, with so many out there, not sure what a knock off version would be anymore... - Porous: No, it won't let the super-extra-finely-ground coffee you left in the coffee grinder for 20 minutes through, but it does allow more of the coffee oils through, adding to the taste, and health benefits the oils give, to your effective cup of wake-up. Cons: Not perfectly flush with the bottom of the DCC-3200 make, but works extremely well in any of the larger filter makers. Other Thoughts: I use reusable filters because I hate buying filters...Really, I do. But that said, the paper filters, in general, trap the oils naturally present in coffee, which also enrich the taste of the beverage. But, the microporous design also keeps that fine particles of coffee out, which may collect at the bottom of a pot or cup and be unsightly to the eye. That, however, doesn't bother me, as I normally swish it around a little. If you see it, think chocolate covered coffee beans, without the instantaneous and extreme caffeine delivery. Also, not really a con, but expected...you have to empty the filter, which can create a mess, coming from paper filters. There are other types of filters, I think cotton ones, that are reusable for a time, then they disintegrate, causing a potential mess, but are a possible go between if you want to research them as well.

Works great-- as a PAPER filter support system!
I give this 4 starts because it works perfectly for what I wanted it to do, which is to hold the paper size 4 cone filter properly in place. However I would not be happy with it if I were using it as a stand-alone filter because of the large amount of sediment which passes through into the coffee, as I will explain. I was tired of brewing coffee only to find the the paper filter had collapsed and coffee grounds passed freely into the coffee pot. I began searching to see if there was a product made to support the paper filters so that they could not collapse, and found none, but came across this item and decided to try it. It works (for me) by placing this permanent filter INSIDE a regular size 4 paper cone filter, then placing it inside the brewing compartment in my coffee pot ( Giada Programmable Coffee Maker ) and filling it with coffee grounds and brewing as usual. This solves the problem of the paper filter shifting. I read reviews that indicated it was too tall for a coffee maker to be able to close properly. I can't imagine this happening since it is still slightly shorter than the paper filter once it is placed inside my coffee pot- so if a #4 cone filter fits your machine, this should work. One thing I would note is that because it is a more rigid item than a paper filter, you must wiggle it side to side, and/or spin it slightly as you insert it into the brewing compartment for it to properly "seat" down to the bottom. I rinse it daily and thoroughly wash it occasionally. I have been using it daily for about six months now with no signs of wear at all. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I believe this item is marketed as a replacement to paper filters and is intended to be used on its own. However, there is a LOT of sediment that will pass through (assuming you use a standard size grind- like from the supermarket). I understand that some people like their coffee to have this sediment and that it is a trade off they are willing to endure for "better tasting coffee." However it seems excessive to me. Therefore, I have posted an image of my paper filter which, as you recall, I use underneath this filter when I brew coffee, so that you can make in informed decision about this Gold Tone filter's capabilities with respect to what you intend to use it for. If you are just tired of the collapsing paper filters, and don't mind using both filters simultaneously (i.e using this permanent filter for support), then I highly recommend this product.
