Our birds simply love this bird food. We had it in another feeder,and it does not stop the squirrels.

We bought this to keep the raccoons out of the bird feeders, and it works pretty well. Some, most, raccoons still try, but they take a bite or two and turn away. (One literally threw himself/herself off the feeder so that one must have gotten a really hot bite.) There is one raccoon, however, who seems impervious to the sizzle, so it’s not 100% effective, but at least now it’s one raccoon vs the dozen we had before. The squirrels really don’t like it. The birds, however, love it which was my biggest concern. The package came well wrapped with no spillage.

Birds love it and squirrels hate it. There is a little waste from the sunflowers, but overall the birds love it.

This bird seed is supposed to keep away squirrels. I put it out a few days ago and the only creatures I have seen eating it are the squirrels. They sit right on the feeder and eat these seeds with no problem. I did call to try and address the issue, as - if this was my company, and I was advertising a product this way - and then discovered it was doing the opposite of what I advertised, I would want to make it right. I spoke to Blaine, who was very polite, but basically told me just to write down the mfg number and then buy more, but avoid buying from the same batch in the future. He said that the ends of the batches may cause a difference in effectiveness. I don't know why I would buy from this company again if the product was not only expensive, but I spent a lot of time weighing options. All this just to have the birdseed only attract squirrels, and then have the company tell me that even if it is a quality issue on their end, that I should go buy more, just from a different batch. This is not good customer support. I did not want to leave a review like this, but I did call them directly, first, to give the opportunity to make this right.

Even though this bird food is expensive it does the trick! I mix it with regular bird food and the squirrels have been trained now not to try it. It burns the mouth of the squirrels and birds cannot taste hot sauce.

Does not keep wild life away, squirrels love .

This is the type of bird food I use in my feeders to keep the bears away. I lost a couple of feeders to a hungry bear a couple of years ago and I was told that using bird food treated with hot pepper will stop them. Birds don't mind the pepper because they have different taste buds than mammals. So I replaced the feeder and set up a trail camera to see what I might record. That first night with the trail cam, I got a video of the black bear lumbering up to the feeder probably thinking he'd have another easy snack. The feeder was hanging about 4 feet off the ground so he got underneath it and put his nose up to smell it and quickly turned away! So for the last few years all I use is bird seed like this that is treated. I also use hot pepper suet in all my suet feeders. The birds are happy and I have a great selection of different ones who I enjoy watching. I will go back to regular seed like fruit and nut blends, etc., once the weather has been cold enough to let the bears go into hibernation.

A good value,birds seem to enjoy it,but sadly doesn’t slow the squirrels from raiding the feeder
