It this the same as cooking walnut oil?

Walnut oils for cooking are less refined, containing more musilage. Oils for easel painting are extremely pure to make them very stable.

Can this oil be used with wax based coloring pencils on adult coloring books?

I actually tested this question. I took one of all my different brands of colored pencils - even crayons(as are they definitely waxed based)- made several stokes of pigment with each pencil onto a good quality of sketch paper. Then I applied walnut oil to each sample with a paint brush, then with a cotton swab. The results are as follow:1. the pigment in some- flaked (also the crayon) 2. some- faded slightly around the edge of the stoke. 3. All left an oil stain on the paper. As I am not sure why you asked this question, these are not results I would want in a coloring book as the oil stain will leak through to other side of the page both front and back. If the wax based colored pencils are too waxy - perhaps setting them out under a lamp to warm them up ... to loosen the wax/pigment to flow better. Hope this helps.

Does this product exclusively contain walnut oil?

Yes it does indeed exclude walnut oil exclusively.

Is it yellowing at all?

No. Walnut oil is not yellowing with age. Don't you people ever do your own research?? But a book on oil painting please!
