APEC Water Systems Replacement ORing for ROES-50 3.5" OD Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Housings, O-Ring (3 pcs O-Ring-Set-B)

I have a Reverse Osmosis 5 stage filter system and the 3 main stages are canister filters. Every year I replace the O-rings as we have hard water that mineralizes everything it touches. I use food grade silicone to condition the O-rings and make sure both the manifold and canister holders are clean and dry before installing. Every year I get a fair amount of black residue to clean off but these haven't leaked due to O-ring failure in 10 years. I did have to replace the manifold once due to cracks that caused leaks but the O-rings never failed. As these are APEC I know they are designed to fit with both circumference and thickness of the O-ring. Some parts you don't want to rely on aftermarket fitment as they may not be the correct size or use the correct material and can lead to failure and leaks.

These fit, as they should once, I figured out how to remove the old ones. It was easy to replace them. They are a good value for the money. The thickness matches, where it needs to to keep everything sealed. They seem to be of higher quality and they appear to be very durable

I replaced my O-rings when I did my filter changes. Just because it's water and under the sink I followed the directions exactly and I havent' had any issues. My filter system works great -

I had no trouble replacing the o-rings for the three primary filters on my APEC Reverse Osmosis system and these o-rings worked perfectly in every respect. I did read some reviews indicating the o-rings were thinner than the originals, had a larger outside diameter than the originals and/or did not seal properly. I saw none of those problems and think I may know how to avoid those issues: • First and foremost, be sure to order the correct version. There is a Type “A” for systems manufactured before a certain pair of dates and a Type “B” for systems manufactured after those dates. Clicking on the Type “B” box will provide those dates. Be sure to select the correct (“A” or “B”) box before proceeding with ordering. My system was manufactured in 2018 so I ordered Type “B” and the replacement o-rings appeared identical to the originals. • I used food grade o-ring grease on all 3 o-rings and on the flat rubber washers at each end of the two carbon filters which I was installing. I spread the grease thinly but thoroughly over the surface of all items. The grease prevents friction loads which can damage rubber parts and can give a false indication of the torque applied. There are many brands available; I used Haynes Lubri-Film sanitary lubricant which costs about $8 for a 4 oz tube but will lubricate many o-rings per tube. • I used the wrench provided with the original set to tighten each filter case after installing. I pulled until each was a little more than firm; perhaps a 5-8 lb pull on the wrench. Good luck. I hope this has been helpful.

They work fine but these should really be included with the filter cartridge since they recommend replacement with every filter change. I rank these high though because after a year on the system, they still looked like they were brand new and could be used again. I still changed them just because they are cheaper than a flooded house and not worth the risk.

my coop had a water damage incident where some other water filter was improperly installed or filter reloaded, and was slow leaking for weeks down to several apartments below it, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage. so when it was time to replace the filters on our basic apec B unit, i did not buy their basic quality filters, but i did buy their o-rings and some silicon grease from others. after a little coaxing these o-rings fit the grove and sealed up the cans perfectly. i re-greased the old o-rings and bagged them in hopes that may recondition them for reuse in a few years when we are ready for the next filter replacement set.
