The Best Blow Dryer Ever
I bought this hair dryer 8 years ago and (knock wood) it's still running strong. I was curious to find out how long I'd had it and was surprised to see I'd purchased in November of 2018. I wash and dry my hair every day so it's gotten a lot of use. I make sure I clean the filter on a regular basis and I also don't stretch the cord by wrapping it around the dryer. It is pricier than previous hair dryers I've had over the past 50 years, but obviously well worth it. Durable, dries my hair quickly, and lightweight. If and when it gives up the ghost, I'll buy another one immediately.

Lightweight Dryer, Excellent Product
I've only ever used drug store dryers (i.e. Revlon), so this was quite a change. The picture makes this dryer look light blue, but when I received it, it was white. I did a lot of research before I decided on this particular model. My hairdresser recommended either Rusk or Elchim, but after reading reviews, I decided on Rusk W8less due to the fact that it is lighter in weight. If you have nerve compression issues, or if you just have a hard time holding hair dryers for a long period of time, then this is a blow dryer that definitely feels lighter in weight than my old Revlon dryer felt. I had never known that the quality of my hair could also feel much sleeker and less frizzy just by investing a little more money in to a good blow dryer. After I would use my old Revlon, my hair would be poofy and frizzy, but this is not so with Rusk W8less. I was so surprised to feel my hair after my very first use. Also, as with any hair tool, it did take a few tries to get used to how to use this dryer compared to the much cheaper dryers at drug stores. It blows harder and the heat is just right even on 'hot.' The top button is a cold shot button, the middle button is the heat level (warm, cool, hot), and the bottom is for level of drying you want (low, off, high). Pretty simple. It came with only one concentrator (the ad said two when I bought it, but it is only one). The cord is longer than it is with cheaper dryers. Price-wise this was definitely cheaper than some other high end dryers, but more expensive than a drug store dryer. Overall, it is definitely worth the bit extra and I will definitely continue to buy Rusk products in the future. A YEAR LATER: It's been over a year later and this dryer is still going strong! The drying time is shorter than other hair dryers, and the dryer still works just as well as it did when I first purchased it. I LOVE this blow dryer! Will definitely be buying another one whenever this one finally dies.

Hot and Handy
My Babyliss hair blower was bought on the recommendation of my hairdresser. It lasted for many years. Trying to buy another (with my list of 'must-haves') proved to be difficult. Searching for one that's fairly quiet, lightweight, ceramic, tourmaline, budget-friendly, etc., proved to be a challenge. After reading reviews, going to beauty supplies and big box stores, I decided that the Rusk W8less hair blower met my needs. At 2000 watts, this is a powerful tool. I have thin, baby fine hair and don't need to use it at its highest setting. If your hair is thick, this should be more than sufficient for your needs. March 26, 2015 Update: My hair blower is still working perfectly and I will definitely continue recommending the Rusk W8less Professional Lightweight Ceramic hair blower! One of the features I looked for was the ability to clean the screen filter. Over time, hair products and dust can cause the filter to clog, overheat the motor, and prematurely destroy the unit. The Rusk filter can be removed and cleaned. It has multiple settings, including a cool one. An important feature I looked for was a nozzle concentrator. This one allows a thin stream of air to focus on a small section of hair. That means that you won't be drying/frizzing the surrounding hair as you dry that one section. Should it matter to you, please note that, the nozzle is a dark color, while the dryer itself is more of a light ivory tone. The Rusk is a bit lighter in weight than my old Babyliss. Its weight compares favorably to others on the market today. As a unit with a decent capacity motor and durable housing, the Rusk impressed me. You can buy hair blowers anywhere from around $20 to more than $200. Decide what features you must have and determine your budget. If yours must be ceramic, tourmaline, lightweight, have high wattage, multiple settings, a removable filter, good reviews, and be a great value, then the Rusk W8less is the one to get. JANUARY 2017: It's been almost two years since I last updated this product review. I can happily state that my RUSK W8Less is still doing an excellent job and I have absolutely no complaints about it.

Yes, it is worth every penny
I never thought I would pay so much for a hair dryer. Typically I would expect to pay $30 or less. I am almost 40 years old and have very thin, frizzy hair that almost wants to have some wave. I color my hair and typically let it air dry because blow dryers that I have used in the past tend to make my hair dry, brittle and frizzy. I have decided to grow some length to my hair and get a new haircut so I have been motivated to put in more effort to get the most from my current style and color. I read many reviews and watched many youtube videos for tips and instructions. I have used this tool three times-once on my daughter who has thick, virgin slightly wavy hair, and on myself with a round brush. I can not believe the difference this styling tool has made! This eliminates frizz and really gives hair body if done properly. My blowout lasts for days. The heat settings (although there are just 2) are perfect. Cool enough to avoid burn or discomfort and yet warm enough to be effective. Only 2 speed settings as well but I have also found this to be more than adequate. When choosing a tool I was torn between this and the highly rated babyliss nano dryer. The Babyliss has more settings but this has a much lighter weight. With very long hair and the time it takes for a newbie like me to style, the feather light build makes a huge difference. The only complaint I could find on the dryer was the fit of the concentrator tip. Some have mentioned that it tends to fall off. This has has happened to me a couple of times, although only after I hit the concentrator on my scalp or bumped the dryer on the wall by my vanity. It is an annoyance that the attachment is not more secure but I have learned to be more careful and have had no further problems. Highly recommended.

Dryer worth every penny for healthier hair
This dryer is amazing. Initially I bought hot tools tourmaline tools 2000 from Ulta because a stylist helped me pick one out for my needs. I returned it after a week of use and got this one. Even through prices were similar, Rusk is a big step up. My hair type: fine and thin but a bit "fluffy" which gives volume and makes it look like I have a lot of hair but if not straightened well, can turn into big, frizzy fluff ball. My hair is between very wavy and loose curl so I wash and straighten it every day with a blow dryer only. No straighteners. Pros: - the warm setting dries my hair quickly without drying it. I used to buy cheaper dryers that would get really hot to help straighten hair. But that did a lot of damage too. With Rusk, I can dry even faster now a days with warm setting that doesn't cause the damage - hot still gets hot, not just somewhat warm. I use this setting when there is a kink in my hair that I need to just blast with a shot of hot air to get it out. Hard to believe I used to use that hot or even hotter with cheap dryers to do all my hair - all buttons do not stick out, so you do not hit them accidentally when drying. They are indented so you can hold it normally and not switch settings when you don't mean to - cool button is easy to hit. Even though it's indented, it's easy to press only when u need it. I don't mistakenly press it ever - cool setting seems to be same cool as the cool button which I like so if I'll be using it for a while, I do not have to hold cool button - dries my hair really fast even with cooler setting - I've been using it for about a month now, and my hair feels healthy and shiny as if I just got saloon deep conditioning - very light weight but very sturdy. When I pick it up, I do not feel like it's cheaply made like I do with any other lightweight dryer - because many times I dry my hair upside down, hair gets sucked into the back of hair dryer with some dryers. This one has a decent protection there and I haven't had any incidents with my hair getting sucked in Cons: - the only thing that I do not like is the setting order on buttons. The heat button goes from warm, to cool, to hot. So if I am drying on warm and need hot, there is cool setting in the middle instead of them going in incremental order. Same with speed setting: off is in the middle and low is on the left, high is on the right. So it's taking me a while to get used it where with other dryers I can do the switching without looking within the first few days Overall, I'll get used to one minor con for an amazing dryer.

Great Value for the Lightweight Powerhouse โ RUSK EngineeringProfessional 2000 Watt Dryer
I recently purchased the RUSK Engineering Professional 2000 Watt Dryer, and I must say, it has been an absolute game-changer for my morning routine. Here's why I am thoroughly impressed: 1. Super Lightweight: True to its name, the W8less is incredibly light, which has made a significant difference in how manageable it is to use, especially on busy mornings or when styling takes a bit longer. No more arm fatigue, which I've experienced with other heavier models. 2. Powerful Performance: Despite its featherweight design, this dryer packs a punch with a 2000-watt motor that dries my thick, wavy hair quickly and efficiently. I'm talking about salon-level power that significantly cuts down my drying time. 3. Versatile Speed Settings: With 7 speed settings, I have the flexibility to choose exactly what my hair needs depending on its condition and the style Iโm going for. Whether I need a gentle breeze to dry delicate strands or a powerful blast for pre-styling, this dryer has all the options. 4. Consistent Heat Distribution: The heat distribution is even, preventing hot spots and potential heat damage. My hair comes out smooth, with less frizz and more shine, which is always a win. 5. Durable and Well-Designed: The build quality feels sturdy and well-engineered. Controls are intuitively placed, making adjustments a breeze even mid-use. 6. Additional Features: It comes with several nozzle attachments which are great for concentrating the airflow and enhancing styling precision. The RUSK Professional Dryer offers exceptional value for its price point. It's a robust tool, ideal for both quick everyday drying and more intricate styling. Highly recommended for anyone looking to invest in a high-quality, durable hair dryer that wonโt weigh you down. This dryer has definitely earned its spot in my daily hair care regime and I believe it would be a valuable addition for anyone looking for a reliable, high-performance hair dryer.

Nice dryer, but not at $80 vs $20 for competitor
My wife really wanted to like this dryer. We were attracted to it mostly for its high ratings as quieter than others, as we're both experiencing mild hearing loss and I suspect noisy hair dryers may be part of the culprit. We're comparing this Rusk W8tless Pro 2000 to a Revlon 1875W Compact, which costs approximately 1/4 as much on Amazon. Both have ceramic technology and ionic stream, so quality of drying is similar. I've attached two graphs of sonic analysis I did using Dominique Rodrigues' Sound Analyzer App for Android. The phone was positioned on the bathroom counter approximately 3 feet from the dryer in-use. As you can see, the measured SPL for the Rusk is approximately 5-6 dba less than that for the Revlon. It also has a lower profile in frequencies above 1kHz. Taken together, the Rusk is without a doubt quieter, and subjectively has a less piercing sound. I'd say that the subjective effect is that the Rusk on high-volume air sounds like other dryers would if they had a medium speed between high and low. As for drying time, my wife found that the 2000-watt Rusk was painfully hot on the "hot" setting, so she had to switch to the "warm" setting not to inflict pain. This resulted in a longer drying time of 6:25 vs the 4:48 with the Revlon on high (the Revlon high being not painful). No doubt the Rusk would dry faster on high heat, it just wasn't practically useable for her. The other selling point of the Rusk is its weight. On our kitchen scale the Rusk weighs in at 13.75 oz, which is markedly lighter than most full-size hair dryers but couldn't beat the 11.6 oz of the Revlon. Given that she's dealing with arthritis in her wrist, even a couple ounces makes a difference. Like other users, she did find that the switch configuration on the Rusk was such that she kept hitting the switches during use, which is a pain. It's too bad, because I suspect the actual switches are likely to last longer than the switches on most dryers we've used. But because they're placed right where fingers grip the device, that advantage is lost. My wife's bottom line was: "I wanted to love this hair dryer. But it is not worth $80 against the Revlon's $20." We're returning it today.

Great Dryer
This is my first time paying more than $45 for a hair dryer. This product does not disappoint - it dried my hair in half the time of my old drier. It blows with a lot of force and the hot setting is actually hot. Very satisfied with this purchase.
