MXL AC 404 is a USB plug and play device. The sound quality of the mic is astonishingly neat. The high price of the product is completely justified. Suitable for custom made PCs with no built in mic, or atleast that is how I use it. The Skype audio quality with this is awesome. It picks up the natural volume of the voice easily from a 10 ft distance.
