People who like to read stories of journeys would like it. It talks about the plight of refugees looking for shelter, food and their family members hoping that they'd be alive somewhere. Despite all this there is love and compassion among the children who travel in search of a better place against all odds.

Enjoyed reading this heartfelt story.. The destruction that wars brings to a land and its people.. Wish this never happened

This is the second time I've read this book and I just want to read it over and over again. It is brilliantly written and captures the hearts of suffering children. Now that I've finished this book again I'm going to read Breadwinner- the one set before this book My name is Parvana- the one written after this book and Mud city- the one about Parvanas friend that she writes to in this book

My son loved this book, the book was very interesting and well written and even bought the whole set!

My daughter adores this book. She is very familiar with the writer. Again she loves the story and is very intrigued by a different world. She has been asking many questions about the subject. Since day one she is hooked to this writer and her books. Very smooth writing for a mature 10 year old.
