I Feel Understood...by a Tea/Coffee Maker
When I started shopping for a new coffee maker, I'd originally been thinking of some kind of single-cup pod/disk system as I most often only drink one or two coffee/tea beverages per day, but I am relatively picky about flavor, need to limit my caffeine intake, and have some ingredient intolerances and health issues -- as a result, I liked the idea of having a greater measure of control and more options (it's also nice to have the option to brew a full or half carafe when I have company). So when I saw this machine, I got kind of excited! I liked the idea of having a variety of brew size options and an easy way to create specialty drinks -- all in a single machine. And the fact that this also provides tea brew options made trying this product too tempting to resist. Previous to this coffee/tea maker, I was using an old iced tea machine without adding ice to make tea concentrate for my favorite drink (iced decaf chocolate chai made with a high-protein alternative milk -- yum!), but this Ninja CP307 makes a tea brew of far superior flavor and makes just the right amount, so I can create a drink that tastes better than my local coffee and tea place at a cheaper price and with more nutritional value. This machine has dedicated baskets for coffee and tea, which are color-coded orange for coffee and green for tea, and I like that since it means those flavors and aromas don't mix (I confess that I wish I could buy an extra tea basket on Amazon, too, since I tend to make particularly fragrant teas -- chai and mint -- and would like a dedicated basket for each, but that has no bearing on the quality of the product, and replacement/extra baskets are available on the Ninja website). The baskets are very easy to remove and clean, as is the water reservoir. And I love the double-sided measuring spoon that nests in the side of the machine since it makes it so easy to get the right amount for each size of drink. I will say that the first few times I made coffee with this machine, I sometimes had a bit of leakage issue and not all the water had dripped from the basket upon the end of the brewing cycle, leaving a sort of "well" in the center of the grounds, but I discovered that the problem was the coffee itself, which came ground and was supposed to be the correct grind for the machine, but clearly wasn't quite right. When I switched to another brand after that previous bag was empty, I never had another problem. So the machine IS a wee bit persnickety about the coffee grind -- something that might be an annoyance to some consumers -- but I've found a brand that both I and the machine like, so it performs perfectly now, and I didn't find that early issue to be off-putting enough even at the time to ruin what was otherwise such a fantastic machine and which made such fine drinks. Of course, this machine is probably overkill if one is just a hot, black coffee drinker, but if you like a variety of coffees and teas and appreciate the ability to enjoy a good specialty drink at home, this might be a good option for you. I know it has been for me!

I love this thing!
Coffee and Tea Back to Back: So... a lot of times when you hear about coffee makers that also make tea, all I think about is the awful taste of having coffee grounds in your tea >_<. Tea is often an afterthought for a lot of manufacturers. That's not the case with this machine. They really thought this design through and I am able to use it for both coffee and tea back to back without any extensive cleaning. The trick? The entire brewing basket comes off and they have two separate brewing baskets, one for coffee and one for tea. At no point will the water will touch any component that has touched any coffee grounds when you have the tea basket in, and vice versa. I've seriously made a cup of tea immediately after my husband brewed a cup of coffee without having to clean or even rinse anything. I just swapped the baskets. Tea Basket: So, one thing I will say is that the tea basket is a pain in the ass to clean when brewing loose leaf tea. There's a filter that clips into the bottom to prevent tea leaves getting into your cup, but it doesn't do that great of a job at keeping the leaves out. Granted, I've been brewing maté that's been cut very fine so that is definitely a factor. I'm sure if you were brewing green tea or earl grey, it'd be fine. The other problem is that the brew basket does fill most of the way up, and the tea will tend to float up with it, then stick to the sides when it drains. This is what makes it hard to clean. They don't really concentrate on the bottom (again, this also may be more pronounced with the maté) so you really have to clean the whole thing, and dumping the tea can be difficult. However, I did come up with a great solution that fixes all of this. I just remove the filter at the bottom and use my old tea infuser in the basket. This solves all of these problems completely. No mess and no leaves in my cup. I just dump the tea from the infuser straight in the trash when done and then rinse the infuser and basket. Way, way easier to clean and it's how I recommend brewing cups of tea in this machine. If you're brewing a half carafe or a full carafe, then the cleaning hassle would be worth it for that large quantity. Coffee: We bought this machine after a lot of research when our Keurig broke. We were done having to buy pods. I We definitely didn't feel good about the amount of plastic we kept having to throw away (we don't have recycling where I live) and it's also much more expensive. However, I don't think, with the cost of this brewer, we're going to make up the cost of pods anytime soon. It brews a great cup of coffee, though. We found that the reuseable filter it came with doesn't do a good job, so we switched to unbleached paper filters instead and we have been able to reproduce the consistency and flavor that we liked from our K-cups with it. My husband drinks his coffee black, no sugar, and very much enjoys the flavor of the coffee now with the paper filters. For the record, we were a big fan of the Dunkin' Original, medium roast k-cups and are using the same brand and flavor ground coffee from a bag. The paper filters also make it easier to clean. Just throw the filter out and rinse the basket. It's only slightly more inconvenient than using a pod because we have to scoop out our own coffee, but even then, the included scoop makes that super convenient as well. Features: This machine has a ton of great features. I've used all but the cold brew feature with both tea and coffee and it works great. Want an iced tea? You can have it in minutes. Same with iced coffee. It's really simple to use and everything works as advertised. We bought the version with the thermal carafe because we're not big fans of how coffee tastes when it's been sitting on a burner for a while and the thermal carafe does a great job at keeping the coffee warm for a while. Overall: I highly recommend this brewer. I find it worth the $200 we paid for it and its been a huge upgrade to our mornings.

Best coffee maker. Ever.
I am the type of person to over research everything and still be super indecisive about what I purchased, but let me tell you, this thing RULES. I could not be happier with this coffee maker. Between the regular, hot coffee, and the cold brew / iced coffee, you are getting a steal with this purchase. Listed out some of my favorite things about this coffee maker below. Overall though, you need not look further.. this is the GOAT. - The coffee is HOT. Like piping hot. My old keurig would get the coffee hot, but like... this thing keeps it at the best temperature. - I make usually 1-2 cups daily, and have no problem with the amount of grounds per cup of coffee. It's really really good coffee. I also love that it has a small "stand" for when you're making a single cup. It really is the little things haha. - If you like your coffee strong, this has a feature "Rich" that make it extra strong for you. --- It also has an espresso option "Speciality" great for use when you need a quick jolt of caffeine or a latte - The cold brew feature works great. I would make a full pot of it during the summer and keep it in the fridge for future use. - The frother works amazingly well too. It does not heat up the milk that you froth, but honestly, the coffee is so hot that I don't even need it. - Cleaning is a breeze. I use paper filters because it's easier clean up and the filter provided does unfortunately let some grounds come through. It's barely noticeable though Two cons: 1. The amount of space it takes up. I went into buying this knowing full well how big it was though, so it's more of something to just keep in mind 2. Occasionally when I grind my coffee too fine, the water has a hard time making it through the filter. This can lead to water build up in the filter, and if you leave it, water dripping down onto the base of the coffee maker. The clean up is very easy though and does not splash around the coffee maker. All in all though, I cannot be happier with this purchase. The value for your money is A+. I would buy this 100 times over if needed.

Smart, Versatile Coffee Maker That’s Almost Perfect
I really like this machine. It’s smart, easy to use, and the taste is superb. It makes a lovely matcha, great cold brew, and solid iced tea, all in one place. The temperature is just right, the size is compact for what it offers, and the large water reservoir is a huge plus. Best of all, no more stupid pods, and our family has genuinely saved money because everyone can make their own style of drink with one machine. My only real complaint is the “small” cup size. The small cup is almost 12 ounces, so even a small with room still ends up being a big cup. I have Fiestaware coffee cups that are basically useless unless I brew a whole pot. Did I return it? No. I still love it, but I’m really hoping future designs include an extra-small option around 8–9 ounces. I also love the frother because it’s built in and easy to clean, but I wouldn’t mind if it had a bit more power. One more minor thing: it can be a little drippy at the end, so the tray needs wiping. That might also be me grabbing my coffee too quickly. Rating: 4/5 ⭐️ -1 star for the “small” cup being too large for most cups and a slightly underpowered frother (plus a bit of end-drip mess). +4 stars for superb taste, ease of use, lots of brew and size options, great temperature, easy cleaning, an easy-to-clean built-in frother, a large water reservoir, and a compact footprint.

This coffee maker is made very well so your coffee or tea will be, too!
This coffee maker is excellent in quality, efficiency and taste, with the ability to customize brewing capacity and strength. For tea lovers, it comes with a separate brewing basket so that your tea doesn't absorb any coffee flavor, and you can brew directly into your cup with the flip down mug holder. The thermal carafe is ergonomically designed, with an easy and efficient pour. It does a good job of keeping the coffee hot for a long time. The unit is programable so that you can set the coffee the night before and wake up to a fresh brew in the morning. The noise level is low during the brewing, which is wonderful. The design provides 2 ways to fill the water reservoir with has an easy flip lid. It can be filled directly while in place for brewing, or it can be completely removed for easy filling at a water faucet. The removable water reservoir also allows for easy cleaning. The basket for coffee grounds is of ample size for brewing a full 10 cups even for strong or bold coffee preferences. The coffee maker housing is sturdy with clean lines and looks good on the counter. The unit includes a 2 sided coffee measuring spoon and a frothing attachment which both tuck away nicely on the side of the housing. We enjoyed this model for several years and when it was time to replace it, we checked out other brands out of curiosity. Nothing topped the Ninja for our needs overall. We love this coffee maker and are very happy with our purchases.

Easy to use, makes good coffee and tea
Why is this currently $350! Crazy. Anyways I bought this when it was between $100-200, most likely it was $150ish about a year ago and a half ago, and I have to say that today I was using it and was thinking "Wow, I'm glad I bought this over some other options". I a cup of tea or a cup of coffee in it usually once a day, clean up is very easy, when I put the tea basket in, it knows I'm brewing tea, and if I put the coffee basket in, it knows automatically. The biggest downside is that if you make a big pot of coffee or tea there is no heating element at the bottom, but honestly I enjoy just being able to brew a single cup with no worries. I don't use the mesh coffee filter with it because some of the grounds come through, but #4s fit fine when brewing coffee and it makes cleanup really easy. I don't know about the current price, but I really like this product otherwise!

Jack of all trades, hopefully it will last. UPDATED Feb 2020
UPDATE: After 16 months of use, the coffee maker started leaking leaving a large puddle on our counter. At this point it is unusable. I love the flexibility and taste of its coffee and tea, but it is unusable and out of warranty. I now give it one star. This machine does it all, it is really a jack-of-all trades. I find that I am using it much more than my expresso machine because the Ninja is so versatile and easy to clean. I am concerned about the build quality but so far, after a few weeks of service, it is going strong. Pros: -Makes a great pot of coffee and can also brew tea -Has an innovative design to ensure your tea doesn't taste like coffee -I like the measuring scoop and quick-guide information on it -Brews directly into a carafe, mug, or travel mug which is totally cool -Makes hot and cold drinks that can be "classic" or "rich" -Does an ok job of simulating cold brew -Does a pretty decent job with "specialty" (4 oz. espresso-like) drinks without requiring a lot of time or effort -Has a milk frothing device (more like a whisker) that works great and is easier to use and clean than the steam wand on an espresso machine -Does not contain a heat-plate so your coffee (and house) won't burn -Brew Basket does not have a drip-stop device, so it won't get backed up and make a mess on your counter -I like that it has its own water reservoir. Adding water is a breeze -Is preset to brew/infuse at the proper temperatures and times for different teas and coffee drinks Cons: -It is pricey for a device that dumps water over coffee beans. -No water filter feature, so I wonder if hard-water deposits will quickly build up in there -I am concerned about longevity. The machine is more lightweight than any of my other coffee/espresso machines and has more embedded electronics that may burn out over time -The thermal properties of the carafe is a joke. Your pot of coffee will go from 187 degrees to microwaving-required in 2ish hours. The carafe is lighter and feels like it has thinner walls than cuisinart and kitchenaid carafes. Maybe part of the problem is the funnel-lid? It has a hole in the middle that does not close, allowing heat to escape. The competition can keep coffee hot for much, much longer. We fixed this problem by purchasing a decent serving carafe and we decant the freshly brewed pot into the serving carafe. -The (non-heating) plate that the carafe sits on feels lightweight... is it even metal? -Does not make true espresso, espresso should be brewed at higher pressure. However it does a surprisingly REALLY GOOD JOB at simulating espresso by utilizing more coffee beans and infusing the beans with water -Does not make true steamed milk, instead it agitates the milk to make it froth... therefore you need to heat the milk up first if you want hot frothy milk... but it does a surprisingly REALLY GOOD JOB at making frothy milk and can make cold frothy milk as well for iced drinks -Cold brew coffee is not as smooth as a true cold-brew, but it is pretty good for a quick 10-15 minute process So to summarize, I really like this coffee machine. The Ninja has pretty much replaced our espresso machine for the time being. I like the flexibility of being able to brew hot and cold coffee/tea directly into a mug and I really like how easy it is to make a very tasty cappuccino-like drink. I'd haven given this 5 stars if the thermal carafe would actually keep the brew hot for most of the day like their competition. I will update this review as we continue to use the product

Just buy it! Best tasting home-brewed coffee and tea!
Buy this one! My Ninja DualBrew Pro Drip Coffee Maker CFP301died after less than 2 yrs. My dad and brother had recommended this one originally and I wish I had bought it then. I prefer to have iced coffee in the morning and hot tea in the afternoon and find that it is superior at brewing both. I love that it has separate tea and coffee baskets and knows which one is in the machine so you can't accidentally brew coffee when the tea basket is in. It takes a little longer than a Keurig because it steeps your beverage inside the machine according to whichever settings you select and does not continuously drip, and instead does some sort of calculation to ensure that every drop is perfectly steeped. You will definitely taste the difference! Especially in the tea if you've ever only had tea that was just in a bag dropped in hot water. I love that it has hot and cold options. Hands down it makes the best tasting home coffee or tea that I've ever had. I cannot recommend this product enough.
