Venum Elite Standup Shin Guards

Great Shin Pads ! I recently hurt my instep in Muay Thai sparring with a misplaced kick bruising the top of my foot. I have 6 different leading brands of shin pads that I use frequently when Muay Thai sparring. I could always feel my shin & instep being impacted when my kicks were being checked. I never trusted any of them to protect my thin 60 years old bones (145 lbs) so I never kicked hard. Yesterday I put on my new Venum Elite Standup Shinguards & went to the Mauy Thai club. After testing a few light kicks I blasted away on a much larger opponent with no problems. I checked his heavy leg kicks and had my heavy kicks checked (blocked with upper shin). I never felt the kicks at all through the pads ! These Shin Pads provide Great protection ! They are super light, with a tight fit with and did not slip or need adjustment in a full 90 minute class including sparring. These are the best Muay Thai shin pads for sparring & drills that I have ever worn. I am waiting for another brand that are already in the mail but I certainly won't need them. These are Amazing & worth every penny !

Better than my RDX shin guards, the back of the ankle strap helps keep shin guards in place and bottom strap is wide. I have long limbs so the foot padding doesn’t cover my whole foot but it provides enough thickness that my toes barely touch the bag or body of training partners. The upper and lower straps that are Velcro have thickness to them. You can tell they will last.

After suffering for months with cheap shin guards, I gave in and got these. They stay nice and tight without any shifting to the side during sparring, even when you practice leg grabs. I contacted the Venum customer service to ask about the difference in the different models and they said Elite are made in Thailand while the cheaper Predator and Challenger models were made in Pakistan or China. I haven’t felt the rubbing of the top strap on the back of the knee which some people complained about but then I wear tights for practice and haven’t tried the guards with shorts and bare legs. I got an elbow several times from a beginner who didn’t know how to do a reinforced block properly as a counter to a kick and would flare his elbows out. These absorbed the impact so well, never felt a thing, and his elbow was ok as well.

These fit great and provide excellent protection. I've been using them for over a year now and they still look and feel great

Getting started in muay thai recently and I am happy about this choice. Friends in the community recommended me venum as a starter and Im satisfied with the product. As a reasonably tall guy around 199 pounds, the length is perfect and functions as expected. The shinguard stays in place and it fits right below the knee. Shinguards shouldn’t go higher than your knee. Padding is reasonable but I expect to condition my shins after a few months in. So do not expect for leg kicks to not hurt. It is part of the sport.

Awesome quality. Been using it 3-6 hours a week for couple of years now. Still hold their form. Much better then any other shin guards I ever used.

You can feel the quality and protection the minute you put them on. But they do feel a bit heavier than other pads. Minimal but noticeable. They look great and as bulky as they are, somehow sit or feel closer to the shin. The reason I returned them is the same reason most people mentioned here. I'm 5'4 and the top strap digs at the back of my knee to the point where it makes them unwearable. It's not that big a deal until you start moving around and try throwing knees. Almost perfect even with the added weight. But the top strap makes them a no go for the vertically challenged. I "downgraded" to The Challenger shin guards and those are the better choice for me. They're lighter and offer the right amount of protection. I can kick pretty hard without fear of feeling it. Both these models didn't move an inch during sparring.
