Super nice!
This thing works so well. I love that it makes super small adjustments and doesn’t budge once you set it. Great asset to my camera setup.

Smooth working
Just What i needed for landscape and macro photos. The ballhead will not cut it.

Works Great
I purchased this for real estate photography and it’s excellent. The adjustments are precise and it feels very solid. I previously had a Manfrotto geared head and I like this better. My only complaint is tightening the mounting plate is a bit odd because it’s tight under the camera, otherwise you mount the camera backwards, but not a big deal at all. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent Product
This 3-way gear head is very well made and easy to use. The gears work smoothly an accurately. I would recommend that you use a sturdy tripod because it is not light. I use it on a Sirui T2204SK 4 section tripod that weighs around 4lbs and has a load capacity of 33lbs. The only negative, if any, is that it only tilts up 15° wheras the Manfrotto 410 Junior 3-way gear head (the one compatible with the Benro) tilts up to 30°. This may be an issue with some and not others. Maybe 4.5 stars would be a more accurate rating.

Solidly built but with two minor flaws
My other ‘older’ geared head is a Manafrotto head, which has proved to loosen internally over times, several times even after being fixed by the manufacturer. So instead of paying a nearly new price to have it repaired yet again, I thought I’d give Benro geared head a try. It is solidly made with good materials and is lighter than the Manafrotto head, but solid just the same. The knobs work fine for quick or small adjustments so there isn’t a problem there. However, there are two challenges with this head, which lowered my rating. 1) The bubble in the level on top is so small compared to the circle used to center it, that it is difficult to be dead on accurate. Even just a small tweak, depending on just your own eye to make a judgement on whether it is completely accurately centered can be off. It would have been SO EASY to make the bubble bigger so that it would be quite easy to exactly center the bubble within the circle. 2) The attachment screw on the underside of the plate, which is attached to the camera body works loose. THIS IS SERIOUS! Unless I notice that the camera is starting to wiggle, I’m afraid that my $5000 combination Canon 5DMII / 17mm TS lens will fall off. I shoot 3 homes per day and typically every morning when starting, I have to retighten the screw. I’d use something like Lock Tight on the threads, but then I’d have trouble removing it. Update: I’ve been using this head now for a long time, usually 5 days a week. Once I learned that hand tightening wasn’t enough, I use a screw driver or a tool with a flat edge to tighten the mounting screw. Now it only needs retightening about every 1 to 2 weeks. Upgraded the rating from 3 to 4 stars.

Easy to use for Perfect Alignment
When I need stability, balance and just the right angle I use the Benro 3-Way Geared Head. This is a beast on my tripod and is more than easy to get the perfect shot. My photography demands I have the correct angle and right tilt and Benro has made this task so easy for me. I do Real Estate Photography and I take pride in having my vertices and horizontals perfect. I highly recommend the Benro 3-Way Geared Head.

Sehr guter Getriebekopf !
Klasse Teil 👍

Solid, stable but huge!
I really like how there is plenty of attention to detail but the whole thing is a lot bigger than k expected. That means it’s really stable but also not ideal for travel.

Experienced user, highly rated for value.
I use systematic tripods, first from Gitzo and then have moved to Benro as Gitzo does not support Canadian market for defective gear to my satisfaction. I use both an aluminum and fiber tripods from Benro, 75mm levelling bases, fluid heads, geared columns, and all that kind of stuff paired with USA made Kessler jibs, sliders, second shooter... I used to use the Bogen/Manfrotto 410 and 405 heads but went with this Benro for weight and price along with the fact that it is setup for Arca standard and includes a plate (I have adapter plates for the 410.405 to Arca but they were expensive and heavy too). So I mostly use the geared head on the bottom of the Benro geared column (they switch out in seconds with the systematic design without tools), and I find it really good for video and timelapse at low angles with heavy camera/lens setups. The results are precise and repeatable, and the head quickly moves with the gears disengaged so you really have two types of adjustment and that makes setup fast. I use Smallrig cages and bolt the arca plate to either the cage top or top-hot depending on weather an XLR adapter is attached (Panasonic), and I am really pleased with the value of this geared head, and Benro products overall. My only longterm criticism of the Benro products (all of them) is either the bubble levels fall-out, break, or fade away in the sun to being useless within two years, so I will check back in 2022 and update whether the bubbles survive. Suggestion to Benro...either include extra bubbles, eliminate them, or buy something that matches the rest of the quality of your gear.

High quality, very good operation, great for macro setup.
Very good geared head, with very good control and reasonable weight. The three rotation controls are in two parts, fine adjustment knob and coarse adjustment. A few things worth knowing: -the coarse adjustment doesn't always click in place until the fine adjustment is then turned. -if you mount a rail on it be sure the geared control knobs on the rail don't clash with the Benro. -you may need a spacer on the tripod to move the Benro up a little as the control knobs can clash downwards too. -you might want to invest in a dual Arca mount 360 rotation panning clamp (eg Sunway) to go on top of this so as to adjust camera rotation more flexibly once the geared head is in position. Overall much more flexible and faster than moving the tripod for macro shots.
