I'd wanted to try this style of hot chocolate for a while. It was pretty good & the extra effort was worth it to make, but a bit expensive & I'd probably only get it again if I was having a house party & wanted to show off by making "fancy" hot chocolate

I really enjoy this hot chocolate on a cold winter's day, but you have to accept going into it that it isn't something you can rush. You're meant to gradually melt the large puck of solid chocolate in a heavy pan of milk, heating it to just under boiling, while whisking often.Expect it to take about 20 minutes, if you're not making shortcuts.But it's a warm, nice chocolate, rich and spiced lightly with cinnamon, and it smells lovely while making it. My entire family really enjoyed it, and on a cold day, it's a nice excuse to hang around a hot stove for a while.
