Great tool for what it is designed!
We live in Wyoming where the wind blows every weed seed alive into our yard...mostly dandelions. I am 70 years old with rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and a torn rotator cuff and so was looking for something to help me at least with some of the weeds when I ordered this. I was disappointed that, due to Covid, I had to wait for the order instead of my 2-day Prime, but it was still worth the wait!. I showed the video to my husband of what I was expecting and he said, "That will be good...IF it works..." UPS delivered it that afternoon and without even opening the box I took it out to my husband who was "weed eating" the front yard. He has just had his 7th back surgery and had previously been trying to get out the dandelions with a different long handled tool, which I could see was straining his back. He took the new Walensee Stand Up Weed Puller out of the box and immediately starting using it. I really think he wanted to show me that it was a waste of my money! Surprise!! It was so easy and effective he worked for two hours straight. He was like a demon and was like a kid with a new toy. I have to say that I had thoroughly watered the yard that morning so the soil was damp to depth. The weed puller is light weight aluminum but has not bent with all of the use and pulled up dandelions, even the heavier-rooted ones of long-standing, and five or six other shallow to medium depth weeds including "bunch grass". We now (after he attacked the weeds again yesterday) have three huge black garbage bags filled with weeds. The plugs of dirt/clay which come out are "aerating" the lawn and flower bed at the same time as a bonus. Even though the tool was to be a help for me, it has turned into his "toy" and that is still helping me because he loves pulling those weeds. I do have to say that it does NOT pull up the crab grass (I call it "octopus grass" due to the long white runners it sends out in all directions.) but at least I don't have to pull ALL of the weeds anymore. I give it five starts, and just don't expect miracles against huge weeds and dry ground. Again I say get this. Be reasonable in your expectation. Water the ground THOROUGHLY and don't expect miracles on huge weeds with my poor aching hands anymore. Buy one! Have "fun" though, pulling up the annoyances. And yes, an adjustable height shaft would make it better and easier on backs, but all I can say is that it is the best money I've spent in a while! I'd buy it again in a hot minute.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth every penny!
Get this one. This tool made pulling those painful, spiky weeds so easy. It grabs the whole weed and pulls it straight out root and all which you can actually see, so you know it won’t just grow back. I’ve cleared hundreds already! It does leave a small hole, but it’s just a narrow plug and easy to step on or refill with a little soil. Totally worth it for how fast and effective it is. Saved my back from having to bend over.

Good , but not perfect
I bought this because a popular home and garden publication recommended it as a "must have" garden and lawn care tool. I will say that it mostly does what it's supposed to. I was afraid it was going to be heavy and awkward to use, but it's very light and no effort at all to maneuver eith ine hand. I spent about 20 minutes going around my yard with this gadget in one hand and a 5 gallon bucket in the other. After 20 minutes, the pail was 3/4 full of weeds, far faster than I could have done it crawling around on my hands and knees. It works on dandelions, plantain, and many other weeds. Spreading weeds like spurge, creeping Charlie, and cinqfoil are a little tougher to tackle with thus tool, but it does work. The only real issue is with large dandelions (more than 5" in diameter), it can be hard to tell exactly where the center of the plant is, and so multiple attempts may be needed to grab the root. On weeds with a deep tap root, it also tends to break the root off at about the depth of the prongs. And with about 10% of the dandelions, it didnt break the root off and I had to bend down and pull it by hand. Still, definitely a good product that I'm sure I'll be using a lot this spring and summer.

Just ok
I wanted to try the Walensee weed puller to compare to Grandpa's weed puller which I previously purchased from Amazon. Grandpa's is considerably better with any soil condition. Whereas the Walensee doesnt work well when the soil is slightlt to moderately moist! I do like that I can push the pulled weed off the tool by just pushing a lever. However, the primary need (pulling the entire weed plus entire root) doesn't perform as well in any soil type as Grandpa's weeder! Too many times a good portion of root was left. I've tried to reinsert and try again but that doesn't work most times. So, yes, I have to manually slide the extracted weed/root off Grandpa's weeder. But, at least I get everything in one try. It's definitely worth the one extra step of sliding the weed off the tool! So, the Walensee is ok. It's just not as good as Grandpa's weeder. Ok. So I'm updating the review I just wrote (didn't send it yet). The Walensee is actually a really great welder. Especially because of the ability to push the extracted root of the tool bt pressing the lever! After the soil in our yard dried just a little, it worked great! It pulled out the entire weed/root. There were still times that I had to try again. But not too often.

Durable and works great!
This thing works amazingly well! I get a lot of wild grass coming in between my flowers and I can’t pull it out for the life of me. And you poke this thing in and twist it and pull a plug of dirt and grass/weeds out in one. It’s super easy and it’s durable and works really well!

Works great on most weeds
I am 76 and have two bad knees and a bad back. But I still love to garden. I needed something to help pull weeds without kneeling. Found this. Seemed cheap enough even if it didn't work. SURPRISE !!! It does work ! Extremely well ! I walk around with this and a 5 gal bucket and get most of the weeds. NOTE: It does not do well with weeds with deep tap roots like Dandelions and Red Bud saplings. My wife loves this tool.

Not so sturdy . . .
Made for soft, tilled soils. Does not work in my Northern California adobe soil. It'll break first . . . You have a nice lawn, water and maintained? it'll probably be ok.

GREAT GADGET
It is very user friendly. This was bought because for the very first time In 20 years, our grass was Inundated with dandelions and have grown to massive proportions. We should have removed them earlier, but this implement did the trick AND no exhausted back after working 2 hours per day. Great gadget!

Felt Like Cheating at Gardening — With One Caveat
I'll be honest: I was sceptical. Another garden tool promising to save my back and my time? But within the first five minutes of using the Walensee Weed Puller, I was genuinely impressed. Out of the box and straight into the garden: No assembly whatsoever — it arrived ready to use, which was a small but welcome bonus. I was pulling weeds within minutes of opening the box. Intuitive, effective, and surprisingly clean: The mechanism is simple to grasp immediately. Position, press the foot pedal, twist, and the weed — root and all — comes with it. The foot pedal was particularly impressive on my more compacted lawn areas, driving the three claws in with minimal effort. The real revelation, though, was the ejector button: press it and the weed drops cleanly away. After years of pulling weeds by hand and ending up covered in soil, I finished a full session and was genuinely clean. That alone earns it points. Practical tips I picked up along the way: A couple of things I discovered that aren't in the instructions: for smaller weeds, you don't need to insert the tool fully — a shallower insertion leaves a smaller hole in your lawn. For tall, slim weeds rather than broad-leafed ones, make sure some of the stem protrudes between the prongs before twisting, so the claws properly wrap around it. I also found myself using it as an impromptu aerator as I worked back and forth across the lawn — a happy bonus. Where it falls short: The hole left behind is roughly 1–1.5 inches in diameter, which is fine for isolated or larger weeds but less practical for dense patches of small weeds — you'd be left with more holes than lawn. More concerning was a noticeable flex in the tool when working on heavily compacted ground. It didn't fail on me, but it gave me pause about long-term durability. Time will tell. Verdict: If your weeding challenges are typical — scattered dandelions, tap-rooted nuisances, the odd stubborn invader — this tool is a genuine game-changer. It's cleaner, faster, and far kinder to your back than getting down on your hands and knees. My only reservation is how it holds up with extended heavy use. For now, though, it felt less like gardening and more like cheating — and I mean that as a compliment. Recommended, with the caveat that you manage expectations on dense weed patches and keep an eye on the build over time.

pratico e robusto
