I had no issues using it and it should last fine for occasional use at my house
Part was solidly built - it fit correctly on to the top of my ladder and the rubber pads on the grip portion protected my metal roof. I got it to work on my own roof, so one hook had enough weight capacity to support just me - and keep me from sliding down the roof. I had no issues using it and it should last fine for occasional use at my house. If I was a professional I might use a pair to get more weight capacity.

Great product. easy to use. one hook works great. two hooks on one ladder is a bit top heavy to move around, I found one hook to be totally stable to work off of. great for installing metal roofing on a steep pitch. with two hooks its easy to split your extension ladder into two roof ladders and easily work both sides of a pitched roof. these hooks are easy to install, im not a huge fan of the wingnuts but they work otherwise 5 stars.

durable
We will put our ladder on the roof today and using the ladder hook makes this project easier - safer. It fit our ladder rungs perfectly. It appearts to be made well and should hold up to weather, snow load and human weight.

Functions well on a high pitch roof. I feel quite safe.
Functions well on a high pitch roof. I feel quite safe. You'll only need one per ladder, but you'll need to tie it in thoroughly. The padded rubber tips got chewed up pretty quickly.

a must have for my house
very sturdy, and doesn't shift or wobble around like I worried it would. I bought a pair, but turns out I really only need one, If I'm the only one up there. My roof is so steep I wouldn't try anything without these, or some repelling gear, Ha-Ha! Quality product. I recommend this for anyone who has a use for one.

steady as it goes
With a roof as steep as mine (think 12/12 and Swiss A-frame-esque), I'm asking a lot of this curvy but sturdy peice of metal. It has lived up to its promise, as I was able to get to the ridge on my mountain home, where I had to secure an anchor. Previously, I made a ladder-like contraption with wheels on it, but that got away from me during the installation phase, and it went crashing 25+ feet below. Lesson learned. By this device and save face. Don't get me wrong, it is still scary atop my steep roof, high above a sloped terrain, but this hook holds my ladder well and gives me a chance to look brave. I especially like the pads to lessen the wear on the shingles.
