Petmate No Spill Bowl,Blue

I love this bowl. We have 9 cats that we need to transport. We bought these bowls for 2 or 3 day long trips. They work great. We noticed that you should only fill to about the bottom of the center hole. Also, we have one cat that feels the need to put his paw in the water each time before drinking. Most times not a problem but every now and then he feels the need to hook his claws on the inner lip and pull hard and tipping the bowl on it's side. Even when he does this, as long as we didn't overfill the bowl, it doesn't leak. We did notice that if the lid is on tight it can be difficult to get the lid off. Actually it is easy if done right. Put the bowl on a firm surface, place you had in the middle of the drink port, all the way to the bottom and push firmly down, the with the other hand peel back the far lip of the lid. Then just continue lifting around the edge until the lid removes. We both find this works well. I have arthritis in my fingers, so I push on the bottom with a fist and find this works pretty well.

I bought this bowl because my kitten recently discovered that her water bowl is a fun toy for splashing around in and tipping over. This bowl has worked exactly as intended - she can no longer tip it over, and splashing isn’t nearly as fun. I was initially nervous about keeping it clean because of a previous review saying that the top doesn’t come off. The top DOES come off! If you apply pressure with your hand to the center bottom of the bowl (through the access area where your pet drinks) and gently peel up the edge of the top, the whole piece snaps off. It just seems like the top is permanently attached because the lip creates a very snug seal when it’s in place, which is great for preventing spills and leaks. Once I figured out how it comes apart, cleaning it is no problem.

We bought this product because our cat kept spilling his water. He would tip over his water bowl two or three times a day, creating a mess on our floor. We tried several bowls, but no success. Then we got this one, and it was a real game changer. In the first days that we had it, he would try to knock it over repeatedly, but the water wouldn't spill. He even tipped it on its side a couple of times, but the water stayed in there! He did manage to spill the water once, but that was the only time in several weeks of having this product that he's managed to do that. I would say the only real downside of this product is cleaning it out. Precisely because it's designed not to spill, it can be a pain when you actually want to change the water. For instance, when it gets dirty after a few days. I found that you kind of have to turn it over and shake it a few times in the sink to get most of the dirty water out to then refill it. But adjusting to this is a small price to pay to keep our floors mostly clean. This product isn't perfect, but it's really helped us out. I highly recommend it, especially for the price.

It doesn't spill until it's totally flipped... something my 3 month old puppy Leonberger (who is obsessed with water and any containers with water) intent on doing constantly. He also kept putting his paws into the opening to splash it out. My husband epoxied a round 10lb weight (a spare from his weightlifting set) onto the bottom so now it's spill-proof because it's flip-proof! Price is right and material is chew proof so far.

I’ve struggled to find a water bowl my cat would actually use, as she usually avoids plastic bowls, but she drinks from this one happily! The design is incredibly spill-proof. I recently had the ultimate test: I woke up one morning to find the bowl literally knocked over on its side in my tent, and not a single drop of water had spilled out. If you need a reliable bowl that keeps water in—whether for a messy pet, travel, or camping—look no further. Highly recommended!

I Had the 'Water Hole' bowl. Cover cracked. (It was 30 yrs old! I didn't know about unhealthy plastics back then.) I Called the company and the owner said he doesn't use BPA FREE plastic. SO, I order this one. It is #5 plastic, so it is BPA free! But THEY said, Made in the USA. NO, in China! Why lie? Because I wouldn't have ordered it knowing it came from China. I wasn't happy about the lie. Nor the fact that it's so shallow! And the tapered bottom makes tipping easier. I was going to return it. (Mean while, I Kept shopping for a good bowl for in the truck use.) With this bowl, You can not fill above the bottom of the center, or water will splash out. So there's not much water In this bowl. Definitely need to add, as the day goes on. I don't have a heavy drinker Pup, nor messy. And she doesn't knock her bowls around. So I really only want it for on the go. In the end, I decided to keep it. Seems like all the other options are either not healthy plastics or have a special hassle for all the other issues that I don't need to address. If the site didn't lie about where it was made or how much it holds, I may have known what I was really getting and given 5 stars, for the use I need it for.

While I’d prefer it wasn’t plastic, this solved the problem of a mischievous cat who spilled every water container, even the heavy self watering ones, he was determined but finally gave up with this.

It works well. The lid is a bit difficult to get off but my pug can get his water on the move.

This bowl is perfect for taking in the car so that water is available for our dog and doesn't spill when driving.
